18 months still not walking
Is anyone else’s little one still not walking independently? My daughter will walk happily holding our hand or with a walker but only for a short time before she gets frustrated with being slow/wobbly and opts to crawl. She’s done a few steps on her own a handful of times and with a lot of encouragement from us. She’s 18 months in 3 days so should I contact the Dr? I don’t feel like there’s a particular developmental problem as she is generally making progress - it’s just slow! She does everything else expected for this age (saying words, throwing balls, passing toys, following instructions etc). It just feels like suddenly the physical gap between her and some of her friends who have been walking for months and months is huge! The parenting book I have advised to contact the GP at 18 months but I’d just love some other opinions xx

The GP would look at doing a referral to physiotherapy and potentially look into any thing else that could be causing the delay. But as you say she is aalking holding hands and with a walker so it may just be confidence.
Does she cruise around furniture?
Seems she is getting there just needs the confidence.
Try standing her with her back against the sofa and encourage her to walk towards you, get her to hold something in her hand too.
My son is exactly the same - I am considering contacting the GP but it seems that he just doesn’t want to let go and can get where he wants to do quicker by crawling. Not sure what to do as all of his peers are walking
