How long after leaving your abuser did you feel ready to date again?

We separated in March, but the abuse continued until I left the city a month ago, but I had met someone back in November and have seen her twice in social settings since me and my ex split up. There is a really strong connection. I won't see her again until next month. I feel really conflicted. On one hand I really want to get to know her more outside of group settings and on the other I am now the solo parent to 2 young kids and still healing. I don't know if I'm ready. It's definitely a slow burn and the timing has been so off but I don't know if it's wise to get involved so quickly. What has other experiences been?

I would recommend not having your new partner in your kids life for a long while and taking things slow. But you deserve to be happy and loved, so I wouldn’t say you have to worry about time frames on moving on. If this person feels a genuine connection with you also they won’t mind taking things slow. If they are a good person they shouldn’t mind you talking about your past and your concerns. I hope it works out for you 😌
