Tonsillectomy - positive news stories

Can anyone share their positive stories about tonsillectomies or how their toddler’s health has improved post operation?

My 3yr 10 month old will be having her tonsils out on 3rd September after 17 occasions of tonsillitis (and antibiotics) in 19 months.

We were due to have the operation on Thursday 20th August but it’s had to be postponed by 2 weeks as she has tonsillitis.

I’m worried about the surgery, her having a general anaesthetic, the recovery etc.

Any tips or advice, I’d really appreciate

Well.. I had one as a kid. My grandmother had one. My dad had one. I know it’s not answering your question to the fullest, but I remember getting my tonsils removed, and I remember contracting tonsillitis over and over again before they were removed.

For me at the age of six they had me count till I passed out. I think I got to like five. I went home with stitches. I gagged up some blood into the toilet, but I was fine, and it was just once. and ate ice cream and soup and popsicles and probably mashed potatoes for a while. I recovered fine, and my parents were no heroes or medical professionals.

Sleeping on your back

Hi guys, I've been told so many different things about ways of sleeping. I try to sleep on my left but I always find I sleep on my back. Is this ok?

Postpartum Hair Loss

Anyone else experiencing postpartum hair loss around 3 months? I genuinely had no idea this was even a thing until it started happening to me! 😩 Any tips for helping with it? And does it actually all grow back? 🥲

17 month old not walking

My son has just turned 17 months and still isn’t walking, he can crawl, pull himself up on things & cruise along furniture. He’s also able to take a few steps if we play a game of back & fourth but gives up quite quickly.

I think he may be double jointed, I’ve spent far too long on Google & im really concerned / starting to not sleep because of it.

Has anyone had any positive outcomes?
I feel like I’m not doing enough etc 😩

Doing so much better

Just wanted to make a post to any other new mums out there who are fixated on your baby’s sleep.
For the first three months it was all I could focus on, making sure she got enough daytime sleep to help stretch out her nights / focused heavily on wake windows. I realised I became obsessive and it was making motherhood so rigid.
For the past few weeks I have thrown it all out the window and have trusted my instinct, stopped tracking on huckleberry and very loosely follow the clock but more so look at my baby’s cues.
Her sleep is still very much up and down but she has given me night stretches of 6 hours at times. The one significant improvement has been in myself and my enjoyment of motherhood. I actually feel free? 🤣
I know schedules work for some but ultimately wake windows are just an average and every baby is different.
I really would recommend to anyone who is struggling with this to just put everything down even for a few days and see if you notice a difference in yourself
I’m here if anyone wants to chat about the wormhole of sleep, the routine of searching everything on Google and the worry of everyday feeling like a battle of naps 💕
