Physical appearance depression

What is everyone wearing postpartum? I loathe getting dressed to leave the house. I'm 5 weeks postpartum. I was 153lbs when I found out I was pregnant. When I went into the hospital to give birth I was a whooping 251lbs! I've never weighed this much in my life! I'm now currently 220lbs. So I've lost 30lbs. Should I have lost more by now? I fix my hair & put on makeup. I try to dress as nicely as I can with what I have but it's very limited. I don't wanna buy a lot of things that will fit this size body when I hope to fit back into my old clothes. What are we doing to help ease our minds & not totally avoid looking in the mirror in total disgust. Also I know to give myself grace but I struggled with body Image issues before pregnancy & now it is even worse. I hope others can relate.

This is totally normal!! I was 115 when I found out I was pregnant 199 when I gave birth. Dropped to 170 after birth then gained 10 back so I’m now 180 at 6 months postpartum. It takes time but it will eventually drop off. I’ve had body issues since I gave birth but what helps me is to remember you just made a human with your body. Give yourself some time- you just did the most beautiful thing you can do. I’m wearing bike shorts and some cute tees- I got them all on Amazon for under 70$. It is definitely hard to find clothes I feel comfortable in postpartum but im slowly getting there. You’re 5 weeks postpartum so I would just let your body be comfortable for now you just went through a very hard experience

I’m down 30 lbs and five and a half months postpartum so I’d say your weight loss is normal. I know it might seem pointless to go out and buy clothes when you won’t be this size forever but trust me it helps so much to have clothes that fit and are flattering. Finding the clothes might be a little hard at first because dressing rooms suck but it really is worth it. Even if you only got like three tops and three bottoms you’d get 9 outfits out of it.

I feel you! I’m 8 months postpartum now. I gained 100lbs during my pregnancy so i understand how you feel pre pregnancy I was 150- at my sons birth I was 250!! So I relate so much! . Matching sets will always make you feel more put together. Active sets will compress you and make you feel better. (They have cheap options online) Whatever you’re comfortable in but definitely a matching set will have you feeling much better. Give yourself some grace you brought an angel in the world🥹. It’s very hard to see our body’s change so much in such a short period of time too!! I was extremely insecure and I struggled badly with self esteem and my image. Amazon , Walmart, target, shein, fashion nova. (Have cute and matching sets) it will definitely help you feel more confident leaving the house and it’s super easy to change into!! JAnd with your weight it will naturally go back this is very normal and okay. Don’t worry it will take time mama!!
