19 hrs post stillbirth

It’s only been 19 hrs since I had a stillbirth and my husband got a call from his friends and asked what he’s been up to. He told them nothing!!! Then they proceeded to ask him to come to the bar with him tonight. He hung up and asked me if I was going to be okay when he goes out. Like are you kidding me?! I told him that’s pretty messed up to leave me when we just got home and I’m a complete mess. He got upset that I was upset with him. Am I overreacting? He was going to leave me with our 3 year old to do bed time and my dr specifically told me to rest no lifting due to the bleeding I was having. Idk I just feel it’s selfish but I get he grieves differently than I do but come on read the room 😭😭 mind you I was picking out our sons urn at the time I’m devastated

Girl, this behavior is not ok. He may not grieve the same way, but this is inexcusable behavior. He should be there to do EVERYTHING for you after what you just went through. I’m so sorry and am praying for you 🤍

1st I want to say I am so sorry for your loss may your heart and mind find peace. I can only imagine how heavy it is to have just come home from something so traumatic. Sending my love!

Secondly I do believe he being insensitive to the fact that you both just went through what you have. What I understand about men is that they digest loss very differently sometimes resorting to escape as opposed to facing reality which ends up hitting them in the face eventually anyways! You can’t escape truth for long. It’s no excuse but I can’t imagine how you both feel.

I def recommend you both get a therapist ASAP!

I know you probably can’t do much now but maybe finding some activities to do in remembrance of; like creating art or something that lifts the weight off you both.

I understand even that could be challenging because some want to hold on a little longer before letting go of the hurt.
There’s no right way to grieve but please keep community around you &Don’t overly isolate 💛🕊️
