So i’m embarrassed but my son (almost 2) still needs to be rocked to sleep with a bottle at nap time and before bed. I should have gotten rid of the bottle when he turned one but he just loves it so much and now i fear i’ve created a monster 😭 at this point he just uses it for comfort and i know he doesn’t need it anymore, so what’s the best way of going about it? i’m considering cutting an ounce off the bottle each day until there’s nothing left, but i’m also considering just cutting him off cold turkey. i would love to hear any advice at all or what worked for yall! he also has a problem with not wanting to eat lunch or dinner, and i think it’s because he knows he’s gonna get a bottle and he’d rather have that. i’m hoping taking the bottle away will finally get him to start eating enough. thanks again in advance!!

Not sure the best answer but to say that with my son I got rid of the bottle and went to give him milk in a sippy cup and he didn’t want take it and that was how we got rid of the milk altogether!

For my daughter i started with taking one bottle a week. She had 4 feedings and each week i would add another sippy cup. I would say stick to a sippy cup vs a straw cup because with straw cups they tend to lift them up (like a bottle) and it usually spills on them and them they cant suck much from the straw. Imagine drinking a soda and lifting it up like a bottle to drink. It would be frustrating! Eventually he will learn with the straw but one skill at a time. And dont give in! Thats the hardest part! Also, i eould chose a bottle in the afternoon to switch to a sippy cup because you dont want a crappy baby in the morning or at bedtime. Its what worked for me. You got this!

My son is 5 and still needs to have a bottle before bed. We always had issues with food since he started solids. Eats very little, some days no lunch and no dinner or no breakfast but would always take the milk. Towards the end of last year, we got the diagnosis that he has ARFID. And they said if it wasn’t for the milk and vitamins I give him daily, he would have some serious deficiencies. We also got the okay from the dentist and she said if he’s just using the bottle for those few minutes, it wouldn’t be bad for the teeth. So maybe have that checked out and ask your pediatrician for a referral. They often brush it off as picky eating but my son just rarely feels hungry and only eats a very limited amount of things.

My LG just turned 3 and we’ve only just managed to wean her off a bedtime bottle. We went away on vacay for 3 weeks and used that to completely cut it out before and bed and it had worked. She now has milk in a cup at breakfast or another time of day except bedtime.
If you’re planning on going away anytime soon that might be your opportunity. Good luck.
My almost 4 week old will not go down for a nap / at night. She falls asleep on us no issue and then soon as we transition her she lasts about 10 mins and then she’s awake. It’s the same during daytime naps and at night. Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated!!!

I’ve been feeling like a failure lately because my baby’s first birthday is coming up, and I lost my job after she was hospitalized for Covid & Flu B I’ve been trying so hard to make her birthday special, but I don’t have much help or a support system.
I’ve reached out a little for help with birthday decorations like via wishlist or anything possible , but I’ve gotten very little response. I completely understand that nobody is obligated to help me, and I’m not expecting anyone to owe me anything. I just think it’s hard when you’re trying to do everything on your own and want so badly to give your baby a special day.
I’m still going to do everything I can for her, but honestly, this has been weighing on me more than I want to admit.

We're in a family room in a hotel atm. My boys 3.5 and 6 months old only co sleep so I put them in bed with me with space between us. My husband comes, pushed the kids ups, put a pillow down and went to sleep on the pillow in the same bed. I woke up to feed my 6 month old and see my toddler is on top of the 6 month olds arm. I said you are putting them at risk. I said I'll sleep on the bunk beds you keep an eye and feed baby if he wakes up. Then he kicks off swearing and sleeps in the bunk bed. Then said I can take them down to breakfast myself. Am I wrong?

Does anyone else child(ren) at 5 months old not want to take naps during the day? My son just turned 5 months old on the 9th of this month and today he's been really fussy and cranky, that no matter how or what I do to try to calm him down he just would stop! I'm a first time mom and I've done all I could think of after looking up pretty much everything on how to raise a baby/ infant. Rocking, singing to him, giving him a bath and among other ways to relax him, just didn't work. We took him for a car ride because usually that helps at night mainly. He just now went to sleep after patting his butt but I'm afraid that he isnt going to stay asleep, like he has been doing at night. Help a momma out please.
