Breastfeeding to sleep
This week my 12 week old baby has wanted to nap while on the boob and won't stay sleeping if I take her off. I tried a dummy but she spits it out immediately. Is it ok for her to sleep like that? I feel like it confuses naps and feeds as I still feel letdowns and hear her swallowing while shes asleep but shes often sick when she wakes up so is she just overfeeding? This is a new thing for the past 5 days. Has anyone else experienced this and is it just a phase?! 😅

We’re doing this at the moment - also 12 weeks. Honestly she’s so nap resistant right now that I’m taking it as a bit of a win. I think there’s meant to be some big neural developments going at the moment that can make relaxed napping hard for them so I’m hoping that it’s just her wanting a bit of extra comfort and won’t last.
I have been gently unlatching her when she’s properly under but that’s usually after a solid 30-40 minutes.
This is happening to me too! She napped well and all of sudden she doesn’t want to nap anymore unless I am holding her. I am letting her fall asleep nursing and then transferring her to her crib. It doesn’t always work as she often cat naps and will wake up after not too long. Ive found putting her in the stroller and walking her also will help her nap. I dont think it will last and am gonna get as much cuddle time as I can, this phase of being so cuddly wont last long. I also have a 4 year old and it goes quick!
I always feed my little lad to sleep. He loves it.
And I find times when he is going through development he will suckle and only lightly sleep a lot. He did it around the 12 week mark and he is almost 15 weeks now and started doing it again. It can feel frustrating when I’m exhausted but I like that he feels comforted. And it is all a phase.
