Did you/ will you have a baby shower for your second baby? I've kept everything from my son, so don't strictly need anything, but I'd like to celebrate No.2 as well.

Every baby deserves to be celebrated ☺️ you could always ask for small donation towards a children's charity if you don't feel comfortable accepting gifts. X

I had 2 winter boys almost two years apart and they were both planned so it would have been really unnecessary for me. If I was having a girl the second time or it had been a surprise baby and I had gotten rid of the baby stuff from #1 then I would have had a sprinkle or a nesting party.

How far apart? I hear general rule is 5 years apart to do another baby shower. I didn’t get to w my first because of Covid only my second. If you have things you can definitely still do a shower or “sprinkle” with cheaper misc things on a registry

Im having something small at my house.

I just had mine. My babies will only be 16 months apart, we wanted to make sure this baby is just as celebrated as the first. The shower was smaller and less gifts but the love was there.

We did a 'welcome to the world' meet and greet with our first and then for our twins. I was personally worried about a baby shower beforehand as you just don't know what might happen with the birth. When they are here, it is a way to see all family and friends in one go as well x

Yes and I just put on the invite that I don't need pressies 😊

We would like to do a gender reveal instead when we have our second so my partner can join in the celebrations too. I definitely think you should still celebrate 🥰

I likely won't have a baby shower for my second as I don't have any friends anymore after getting pregnant with my 1st and only 2 ‘friends’ showed up to my daughter’s so it would be a waste of money and time for me to throw a second one 🤷🏻♀️

Personally I felt a bit cheeky doing one for my second, but that’s just me. If everyone I knew did a baby shower for every baby id be broke 🤣 so wouldn’t want people to feel obliged to buy me something second or third (or forth!) time round if I kept throwing showers. (Even if I said no gifts necessary, I know people would be polite)
I also feel like they’re fun for first time mums bc it’s generally new and exciting (not to say second time round isn’t exciting but it’s certainly not new)
For my second I was just going to do an informal dinner out with just the women in my immediate family and in-laws (so sisters and mums) however my little girl was 11 days early so beat them to it! But I admit this was moreso just an excuse to get together with my favourite females for a dinner, it wouldnt have had anything ‘babyshower-y’ 😋

I did, mainly because my first baby shower had to be cancelled because the pandemic had begun & everything was closing down. I did a “baby shower” at an Airbnb with my husband, MIL, FIL, maybe SIL & nieces. The second baby, was a baby shower that included friends && extended family. Plus, they’re opposite genders, so my daughter needed some girly stuff, too. I say have a second baby shower. Like you said, baby number 2 deserves to be celebrated as well.

Thank you everyone! This has been really helpful and given me a lot of ideas 🥰
