Baby hasn’t pooed

Unless they’re in pain I wouldn’t worry too much it’s normal for them to not poo everyday but look out for the explosion

My baby had this problem and didn't poo for 5 days I spoke to the midwife and she said as long as they are having lots of wet nappies at some point they will have a blow out x

Are they breast fed or formula fed? We’ve just had the exact same scenario my boy didn’t go for 3 days, he is also 4wks 4 days! We gave him a bath and fed him some ready to feed formula which apparently gets things moving a bit more than the powder stuff. Sure enough the morning after he had a massive blowout.

Normal for babies to go longer without pooping because breast milk is more efficient and there’s not as much waste.
I do think it’s a fairly common age to struggle with pooing from what I’ve read, it’s the time where babies are having to learn to actively push to get their poo out so some struggle a bit.
I also hear that you only need to get medical attention if it’s longer than a week without a poo.

My boy is the same, we use ready made formula and it does the trick, think there tummy’s are just getting used to all the milk etc

My boy didn’t go for 4 days, my midwife said if it’s been over 72 hrs then go to the GP - I did this and they gave me some lactulose for him and my god does this do the trick 😂😂x

Don’t panic. I had the same with my boy who’s now 11 weeks and every now and then he goes back to his old ways of pooing only once every few days. It’s to do with their digestive system developing and then learning how to use it to get it out it just takes a bit longer for them at the start but they will crack it. X
