So I was laid off while on maternity leave last year in May. I was set to return to work in June and my job called me the day before saying they were laying me off. Since then, I haven’t been able to find stable employment. That was May 2025. I found a seasonal job but that ended in February of this year. I’ve been applying for jobs since then and haven’t gotten any interviews. I’m certified in my field and I have about 4 years of experience so I just don’t understand why it’s so hard. Maybe because I live in California? I’ve even had my resume reviewed 3 times AND lowered my salary expectation to $20 an hour. I just don’t understand. Is it just me ?
This literally has delayed so much in my life. I’ve been trying to leave my bf (he doesn’t help me with the kids and we just don’t connect emotionally or spiritually) he caused me a lot of stress during both my pregnancies and postpartum. I’m currently going through pp rage and he offers no support. But financially I can’t leave and it’s very upsetting. Idk what to do. Any advice?

I saw recently that a lot of American women specifically are unemployed rn… it’s giving project 2025…

Dude I’ve been thinking about rejoining the workforce but everytime I start the process of actually sending in resumes and seeing what’s out there I’m so so discouraged 🫠 I have a bachelors and granted I’ve been out of the market now for a while I still can’t find anything that pays a salary that would be worth childcare expenses, I hate it here
