Burn it Down festival and going solo!

I know there are some other alt mums here, this one is for you. Is anyone going to Burn it Down in Devon next week? My partner thinks I should go and have a night away (our little boy turned 1 last month) but I don’t know anyone else going, and after so long in the bubble of looking after our little boy I’m I can’t lie I’m a bit wary of going on my own! Maybe I just need a confidence boost, has anyone been to any gigs or festivals on your own since having your little ones, and how did you find it?

Wow you are brave!! I hope you find someone you can go with or if you brave going alone you connect with someone there. There were a few festivals I wanted to go to this year but nobody to go with :(

I didn’t like the idea of going alone but I wouldn’t put anyone else off doing it if you feel you can!

Wish you the best. Keep the platform posted on how it goes ! :)

Put a post out on your local FB page and reach out and see if anyone else wanna come and join you. I see those posts all the time, I’ve replied to some of them and gone w strangers 😅 by the end of the festival we’re not strangers anymore. Having said that, Latin festivals are places that are socially acceptable to go alone, because salsa/bachata dancing is partner dancing- everyone dances w everyone. As soon as a man hears salsa music and he can dance salsa, he’ll look around for any woman who looks like she can dance and he’ll ask her. At a Latin social/festival I would’ve danced w 30, 50 men by the end of the night, one partner for each 5min song w a break in between. You’re more likely to find someone on FB than peanut though, FB has way more local groups and has millions more people.
