Veiling
For those women who veil - why do you veil? What are your reasons? My husband and I are very traditional and we attend the Latin Mass pretty much every weekend unless it isn’t offered for some reason. Veiling is not required, but it is highly encouraged and basically every woman veils and I feel like this is the one thing I’ve had the hardest time with. I didn’t grow up veiling at ALL. Literally didn’t even see it until I went to college. I have asked so many priests and tried reading books/scripture and listening to podcasts about it, and I feel like they always have the same reasonings, but none of those ever resonate with me. I DO veil, but I don’t feel like I have a strong reason - more to fit in and I pray that as I wear the veil, God would help me work through my hesitations towards it. I don’t hate veiling, but I don’t have a strong conviction for it if that makes sense. Would love to hear from other traditional ladies who do have strong convictions and what those reasons are! 💕

I didn't grow up with veiling either. I started wearing a veil or similar head covering because of 1 Corinthians 11. I don't judge people if they choose not to wear a head covering because the church has made it optional.
Once I learned that women stopped veiling because of staged protests in the 60s during the feminist movement, I felt like I didn't have any grounds to not wear one.
As a general rule, I like to look toward the Bible and the early Church for small practices like this.

Honestly I didn’t LOVE veiling until I was pregnant. The biggest thing that stood out is a tabernacle has a veil in it and it carries life
Just like myself, I carry life and the tabernacle is me. Carrying Jesus or carrying Jesus + a baby. I want to have a tabernacle in my heart always there for Jesus and I’ll veil like the real tabernacle
It’s a beautiful reminder for me. Plus it makes me blend in and I like that. So I wear a nursing shawl and veil in mass :)
