I absolutely love the sport and never pictured myself stopping. Now I’m gunna be a mom and I’m having grief about both jumping and not jumping. Advice? P.s. if you have never Jumped don’t assume it’s an easy hobby to give up. It’s the best feeling in the world.

Only you can really assess what is good and safe enough for you and your family. You need to be happy, fulfilled and not feel like your life had to stop before having kids. But I've heard mom brain can make you pretty risk averse. Listen to your heart, stay safe as you can, have all the safety gear you can, Keep your gear up to date and go jump is my opinion.
I plan to get back into the air after my twins are born and I've recovered.
From another kind of ladybird! (Paragliding) 🪂

Ive been jumping twice and thought about becoming a professional in it. It’s absolutely one of the best feelings I’ve ever experienced.
If I were you I would pursue the sport. Being able to continue to do something you love will contribute to the kind of mother you are. I think it sets such a great example for kids when we pursue our passions.

This is going to be an answer only you can give yourself. I had planned to try to get back into it quickly, but my kids have both been terrible sleepers, so I haven’t been in the right headspace. My oldest is about 3.5 and I’m just starting to feel like I’m at a spot to go back. I’ve kept my gear up. I miss it, but I also didn’t feel like my brain is at its best when I’m not getting sleep and I didn’t want to miss a safety check because I’m fried. I have a friend who went back 6 months after, but she’s also got hundreds of jumps so it’s like breathing for her. For reference, I only had about 90 and my B license when I stopped. Fully agree it’s not easy to give up- you may have more clarity on what will work best for you and your family after your child is born and figure out your rhythm. You can also go to the wind tunnel if you need a fix before the risk aversion fades 😆

Adrenalin gives us seratonin and dopamine, good happy hormones that keep cortisol, the stress hormone at bay. If for you it’s skydiving then continue doing that- it’s amazing for our mental health to not only have something for ourselves but something that makes us feel ALIVE. If more mamas had a hobby that makes them feel alive we’d have a lot more happier thriving mamas out there. I don’t skydive but I dance. Same thing in terms of Adrenalin, dopamine. I love not thinking about anything and being spun around on the dance floor. For some it can be rollerblading. Scenic hiking/cycling. Skateboarding. Dancing as I do. Ive only done indoor skydiving but that feeling is really addictive! I’ve been 3 times. If you can afford it and make time for it- why not! It’s wayy less riskier than say, cliff diving
