Is it necessary to have a dehumidifier or a humidifier for a newborn?
My husband brought it up to my attention that he heard it would be good to get a dehumidifier for our house. We live in Florida. We keep the ac at 73F. There’s no mold or mildew in the house.
I don’t think it’s necessary but I want your guys’ opinion on if it’s necessary to have one.

If the air quality in your home and/or environment isn't poor due to someone smoking or mold like you said, it's not necessary.
I live in California and there's often wild fires so I did get one for that reason but didn't need it.
We live in Oklahoma. But we have an air purifier because we have pets and also a humidifier for when the kids are sick. It was very much needed for when my daughter who gets sick often she had RSV and was hospitalized when she was I believe either 3 or 6 months old. And then again for pneumonia. The humidifier is great for when they’re congested. So personally for me yes but only when needed.
I used one the for like 2-3 months just because my baby had a slight cough, which I found odd since he was EBF. But it doesn’t hurt to try if you want ☺️
No it’s unnecessary. I live in Tallahassee, FL we keep the house cool. It’s okay 👌 our pediatrician said we don’t have to keep the house at 72 rules that just whatever we are comfortable with they are comfortable too. We’ll see signs overheating and they will be fussy if they are uncomfortable.
If it makes u and ur husband more comfortable. I can’t imagine it hurting. Especially in Florida.
