Looking for advice x

I’m due to go on mat leave in January.. I am unsure if I will be returning .. due to child care .. do I go on mat leave and then hand notice in or before hand? Before I decide I have to work out a lot etc but also I just don’t feel happy there anymore in my work either tbh 🥺

I'd check your contract cos im sure some businesses you have to pay maternity money back. Like my sister had to go back to work for a certain amount of time then leave but every work place is different x

Check the contract- I decided a week before maternity leave that I wasn’t going back and didn’t have to pay anything back but some places you do have to pay that back. You can reach out to HR and they should be able to tell you the policy. Just let them know you haven’t made a decision yet and are wondering about the policy

Only you can make this decision. Do you get occupational maternity pay or not? Are ok living on maternity allowance? It is financial decision more than anything. If these is occupational pay, there is usually requirement to return for few months. That said you can usually use annual leave to cover some or all of that period and usually your notice period counts towards it too..
