Reflux?

My LB is 5 weeks, he was normally feeding fine with no issues he is formula fed on cow and gate and eats roughly 4-5oz every 3 to 4 hours. Now, he appears to have constant reflux, vomiting from his mouth quite a lot after food and comes out of his nose, seems to be giving hunger signs but appears more wind based. Started having issues with burping but we try sit him up for a bit different positions and all sorts, it just doesn’t really work. Tried slower teats but he became too frustrated with them. Infacol hasn’t helped. He keeps crying, fussing, arching back for ages and appears like his stomach is sore after feeds. Is it worth going into comfort or changing formula completely or going to the gp? He seems so unhappy after feeds now and I want him to feel better as soon as possible thanks

You are not alone my baby has been like this since she has been about 2 weeks old, I am going to the gp about it tomorrow, I think you know your baby best and if you would feel better going to the gp then to go for it, it seems you have tried a few things already so there no harm in asking a professional, from what Iv seen it’s best to speak to a professional before changing babies formula etc, also as long as he is gaining weight that’s important too, wish I could help more, if I get some advice tomorrow from my gp I’ll be sure to let you know! My little one suddenly developed these same symptoms at 4-5 weeks, with previously being absolutely fine on aptamil formula. He isn’t sick though most of the time, just the uncomfortable squirming, crying on the bottle, gulping after etc - midwife suggested trying gaviscon as she said it sounded like silent reflux (reflux without the vomit) and it has (touch wood!) worked really well so far - we are a week into trying it and put 1 sachet in every other bottle. Good luck I hope you manage to find what works for your little one xx

My first had silent reflux which turned into reflux and I think my 3 week old might have the same!

We feed breast/kendamil but found the probiotic drops helped with my first. This time I'm going to try the kendamil ones but there are a few different branded ones

This sounds exactly like my baby, along with the putting on a lot of weight. Swapped to Kendamil comfort but unfortunately it hasn’t made any difference so I also think I’ll contact the GP, my baby will be crying as he’s hungry but you give him the bottle and he will start screaming whilst he’s trying to drink it in pain 😭

Nighttime nappies

Hi all, does anyone have recommendations for a good nappy for nights? 3 month old is sleeping in good stretches but nappies can’t keep up. Tried Aldi and pampers and now on Sainsbury’s and they are great in day but not at night?! Thanks so much

Co sleeping

Hello! What do you do to stop the baby from rolling off the edge of the bed? Out bed is quite high and LO had now learnt to roll!

How much sex a month?

How many times a month in the first year postpartum do you and your husband have sex? (Trying to figure out what the normal range is for partners with a baby!)

Schedule/Routine

My LO is 11 weeks and I’m trying to start building a routine, as I’ve noticed her sleep varies. The last couple of days have been really difficult to get her to nap and she’s clearly tired but fights it. I’m wondering if I had more structure in our day, if it would help. She also doesn’t sleep through the night yet. Any recommendations or methods that worked for people? Or is this all normal and I just need to wait it out?

Breastfeeding

Does it actually get easier?

Two weeks postpartum and I’m exhausted. Baby is awake every 1-2 hours feeding and is EBF. I can’t sleep during day as my toddler doesn’t nap and so I feel like I’m running on fumes.
Do you get longer stretches when baby is breastfed? I’ve seen some women say they haven’t slept in years for more than two hours due to breastfeeding!
