Any tricks for colic and gas pains

Hi, my 4 weeks old has colic and gas pains so bad she won’t really eat and gets fussy and fussier. Struggling and feeling bad because I can’t take the pain away. I’ve tried mylicon and all types of massages and patting. Any ideas or advice welcome 🙏

Does she drink breastmilk or Formula?

I’m sorry. It’s so painful to watch/hear our babies go through that.

I sit my baby up while pace feeding her. I also burp during her feeding and sit her up for 20-30 min after feeding. If she is bottle fed, maybe try Dr. Brown bottles and try a slower flow nipple.

My baby is going through the same thing he’s a month old! I do gripe water and I push on his legs and rub his belly! I burp him between feeds to try and help

If her umbilical cord has fallen off you can put her in a warm bath that covers her little belly. I would give the gas drops, do some belly massages, and leg movements before the bath and then massage again while baby is in the bath. The warm water can be relaxing and help move the gas bubbles along! Burping mid feed can also really help. Bottle fed: burp every ounce. Breastfed: burp every 5-7 min depending on her typical length of feed. It’s a tough season but it does get better! You can do this mama!

currently going through the same thing, my girl is a month old! she cried & screamed for 7 hours straight the other night & pretty much all day today, hubby & i are struggling😅.
i’ve been giving gripe water, gas drops, probiotics, warm baths, massages, pushing on legs, everything you could think of! sometimes healthy babies can just have colic, if you’re doing everything you can, you might just have to ride it out. I’ve gone to 3 pediatricians & all have given the same advice, they say it peaks around 5-6wks & gets better around 3 months. If baby is fed, changed & in a safe space, it’s okay to walk away & take a short break!
Sending you & baby all the good & feel better vibes, try to look after yourself too momma!🩷🫶🏼

You can also try the mommy bliss probiotics for Infant, it helped my infant a lot

So this can be hit and miss but bring up to pediatrician, ask if they can give you a prescription for reflux meds! Literally it’s just a tiny dose of acid reducer 2 times daily sometimes it helps sometimes not! But the gas drops or gripe water with this helped my son!

Nighttime nappies

Hi all, does anyone have recommendations for a good nappy for nights? 3 month old is sleeping in good stretches but nappies can’t keep up. Tried Aldi and pampers and now on Sainsbury’s and they are great in day but not at night?! Thanks so much

How much sex a month?

How many times a month in the first year postpartum do you and your husband have sex? (Trying to figure out what the normal range is for partners with a baby!)

Co sleeping

Hello! What do you do to stop the baby from rolling off the edge of the bed? Out bed is quite high and LO had now learnt to roll!

Schedule/Routine

My LO is 11 weeks and I’m trying to start building a routine, as I’ve noticed her sleep varies. The last couple of days have been really difficult to get her to nap and she’s clearly tired but fights it. I’m wondering if I had more structure in our day, if it would help. She also doesn’t sleep through the night yet. Any recommendations or methods that worked for people? Or is this all normal and I just need to wait it out?

Breastfeeding

Does it actually get easier?

Two weeks postpartum and I’m exhausted. Baby is awake every 1-2 hours feeding and is EBF. I can’t sleep during day as my toddler doesn’t nap and so I feel like I’m running on fumes.
Do you get longer stretches when baby is breastfed? I’ve seen some women say they haven’t slept in years for more than two hours due to breastfeeding!
