Big baby

My big boy is 17lbs 2oz at 18 weeks. Formula intake can vary each day. Between 26-32oz per day just depending. He shows most hunger through the day and then his last bottle he struggles. For example, he had 5oz today at 3.15, finished off the other 3oz at 4.15 and then at 6.15 he only took an 1oz. He went to bed at 6.30pm and he will sleep until about 7-7.30am (I know he’s a good sleeper but is more or less awake most of the day lol) does this sound like an ok formula intake ?? My other little boy was more consistent with what he would take

As long as he’s following his weight curve and has plenty of wet nappies that’s all that matters

My boys are now 17weeks and when they was last weighed my bigger boy was 17lb 1oz my smaller boy 16lb 5oz yet my bigger boy drinks less and always has done 🤷🏼‍♀️

Our 18 week old daughter is on the smaller side for her age (within the centile ranges though) and she has roughly the same each day. Same as your son, she can have anything between 26 -32 ozs per day, just depends how hungry she is and she also has her last feed anywhere between 6pm and 8pm and then she goes to bed and sleeps right through until about 5/5:30am, would probably be longer if we didn't have to leave the house early in the morning for a bit.

They usually say that if baby is having enough wet nappies and dirty nappies during the day and putting weight in well then they are having enough

Post natal depression sorry it’s long

Has anybody else not only had postnatal depression, but thought they would get it even before giving birth?

I’m 36 weeks pregnant at the moment and with this pregnancy and my first one I’ve had a lot of mental instability I’ve had anxiety attacks, panic attacks, feelings that I don’t deserve to have a baby after we had a termination five years ago, I have intrusive thoughts, nightmares at night about hurting the baby, dropping the baby and comments from my partner that he doesn’t want the baby that I forced him into having our second.
I just feel like because he hasn’t been interested in this pregnancy he’s done literally nothing to help me and we do have a bit of a rocky relationship. I already feel so overwhelmed and ignored and stressed and depressed and I’m just getting into my head now that I won’t be able to connect with this new baby all this experience it just made me think it was a mistake and we haven’t done the right thing. I want this baby more than anything a little boy after we’ve had a girl I just feel myself spiralling into this hole and yeah, I’ve got good support around me and I’ve got friends and family that live close but I just feel like this baby is gonna arrive and I’m just gonna feel so down and disconnected and I won’t be able to be a good mum I feel like I’ve just checked out mentally at the moment. And I feel really guilty knowing this baby will be here in a few weeks.

Car seats

What the fuck is that.
Looks like no seat belt, just some bar thing, and a kid that’s small enough to be rear facing in a forward only car seat?? Someone tell me there’s more to this and it’s not as crazy as it looks

Sleep regression

Hate to be this person as I see so many babies/mamas on here being affected by this sleep regression but my baby is 20 weeks on Thursday and so far, we haven’t really struggled with nighttime sleep, she sleeps through and has done since 10 weeks. We are only really struggling with daytime naps (being super short). Has the nighttime sleep regression been delayed for any one else? Or have I just got really lucky?

Are your little ones walking?

Just wondering if most September babies are walking. We’re on holiday and so many people have commented on my just turned 1 year old walking, which I didn’t expect, I thought 12 months was average age for walking, his older brother walked at pretty much exactly 12 months too

Sleep regression

Looking for some advice/reassurance from other mums who’ve survived the 4-month sleep regression 😭🫠

My little girl is 4 months old and we’re about 3 weeks into it now. Before this she was a really good sleeper, but suddenly she’s waking pretty much EVERY SINGLE HOUR through the night.

Last night was probably our worst night yet and she was awake for what felt like pretty much the entire night. 😭 She manages to sleep absolutely fine during the day and has decent naps, but nighttime is horrendous.

We’ve got a really solid bedtime routine that we’ve done consistently for a while now, and she goes down well initially for a few hours at 7pm. But then she’ll wake, I’ll settle her/replace her dummy, she’ll go back off and then we’re doing the same thing again shortly afterwards.

My partner works away, so during the week I’m doing the nights completely on my own and can’t split the load or catch up while someone else takes over. I’m absolutely exhausted at this point and starting to wonder if there’s anything else I can actually do.

How long did the 4-month regression last for your babies? Did anything genuinely help? Did you change naps/bedtime, start any kind of sleep training, ditch the dummy etc., or is it genuinely just something you have to ride out?

Any advice from other mums who’ve been through it would be massively appreciate

After school routine

What is everyone's after school routine?
My son has started reception (he's 4). We get home at about 3:30 which for me is basically morning 😂 when he was in nursery he would come home at 6 so it was easy - dinner then bed.

I've been letting him watch a bit of TV but I don't really want him watching TV all afternoon. That's what we did as kids 😂
