How old are your babies and how many oz are they on per feed?
My little one is 5months old (todayš„¹) and currently on 5oz
She only goes 2.5 hours between feeds, going between finishing every last sip but also sometimes not completely finishing her bottles.
Iāve started to introduce one 6oz bottle at random times during the day. Wondering if I need to up her to 6oz for all bottles during the day??? And see how she gets on or whether to wait until sheās consistently finishing 5oz before increasing.
Iām not bothered about her feeding so regularly as Iām well aware of āresponsive feedingā and not aiming to increase feed amount to get longer stretches
Im just curious and intrigued how other babies are

Mine also 5 months today and also on 5oz and sometimes doesnāt finish it

Mine is 6 months next week a girl and she is still on 5oz every 3 hrs except last bottle before bed is 6oz. She wonāt finish 6oz during the day. That last bottle carries her through the night

My boy will be 5 months next week and is over 8kg now, I think heās big for his age. He has 7oz every 3 hours (sometimes longer, sometimes more regularly) but spits up quite a lot though. He spits up just as much on 6oz tbh. He has 5 bottles at roughly 6, 9, 12, 3, 6 and then goes to sleep about 8pm and will noisily sleep until 6am.

I feel like im over feeding mines on 7oz and 8oz for his last bottle before bed, he goes about 3.5 hours between bottles x

Mine is 5 months and is on 6oz, does finish it but sometimes doesnāt. Feeds every 3.5/4 hours. I usually just try and make sure he has enough in a 24 hour period rather than each bottle. He has on average 30/32oz in 24 hours. I do feel like he ate more the bigger stretched he had, but also itās not really any different to eating less more often!

My daughter is 5 months and recently switched from BF to formula. Sometimes she drinks 3oz, 4oz or 5oz anywhere between 2-4 hours in between. HV said all that matters is weight and nappies⦠adults drink and eat different quantities and at different times throughout the day so no surprise babies do too š
Thanks guys! She will still wake for a feed in the night and will have 5oz, again sometimes drains it sometimes not!
She has started to spit up a bit during the day! Sheās 6.5kg and has 6 bottles per day which on 5oz is 36oz
Weāve never had any issues with weight gain either.
I guess Iāll just follow her queues and her needs - I know there is no right or wrong but god itās a minefield š
Iām just wary with feeds because she suffered really bad with colic so we were always feeding little and often x

My boy has 5oz, occasionally does 4 but has 6 for his night feed

Mine is 5.5months and 8oz 5 bottles a day, she finishes every drop š goes 4 hrs between bottles and sleeps through

My girl is 5.5 months and does 7oz every 4 hours (usually give her 8oz for her final feed). So 4 bottles in a day and she sleeps through x

My boy is 5 months in 3 days, still doesnāt sleep through and not long swapped but drinks 4-5 6-7oz bottles during the day and first two feeds breast milk then a top up of formula which he never drinks much of x
Next week I enter 4 months postpartum & my baby girl will hit, yet another milestone. As someone who struggles with anxiety, OCD and depression I somehow have done pretty well postpartum so far. Iāve always heard about the four month mark and as each week passed and I came closer to the four month mark, I still didnāt quite understand what these women were talking about as I didnāt genuinely feel like I was entering a rut. Well, next week is the week and this week has ROCKED me.
Maybe itās because my husband left on Wednesday for 16 days, maybe itās because I have officially hit a month of very little to no sleep, maybe itās because Iām feeling extremely alone and isolated, who actually knows. Today as I was feeling joy of the memory of last September 27th when I found out I was pregnant, I simultaneously felt sadness, loneliness, anxiety, and failure. Failure that I am not doing a good job. Failure that I cannot make my baby happy or stay calm or get her to sleep. Failure that Iām not doing enough. I feel guilt when I put her down to try and get two seconds to myself or two seconds to eat food or two seconds to go to the bathroom for two seconds to try and manage an over flowing never-ending pile of laundry thatās accumulated from the last three months I spent away from home. I know I need to have grace for myself; every mother is told that. āFind grace for yourselves during a hard timeā, but when my mind is racing and the baby is crying, grace is the last thing on my mind. Failure, guilt, sadness, anxiety, isolation, loneliness. Those are the words that come to mind.
Everyone talks about the newborn trenches. Personally, that wasnāt the ātrenchesā for me. Was it for you? People offer to help (maybe), phone calls, texts, gifts, deliveries, food all comes pouring in, babies sleep the most they will ever sleep besides to eat (yes that is more often), but itās so different.
There is no more phone calls, no more texts, very to little support, no surprise check-ins or food drop offs, no offering to help watch the baby so you can try & feel human again, nothing. Most women go back to work, the partner has most likely been back at work, but for your baby everything has changed. They are more aware, more excited about the world, more excitement, are growing rapidly and hitting milestones quicker than you can blink. If anything, they need YOU, MOM more than ever. For motherās these milestones come and go far too quickly, well before mom is even able to catch her breath or realize just how much time has passed, because sheās been trying to play catch-up with life and her mind since the very beginning.
So when all else fails, what are we doing mamas? Everyone tells you it takes a village to raise a baby, but no oneās willing to help build the village. So does anyone want to help build my village? This Mama could use a friend or twoš„²š¤

Hey ladies! The little man is here but Iām struggling. Day 2 and he wonāt sleep unless I hold him all night, we had an emergency c-section and Iām a single mom struggling tough. He is getting donor milk in the hospital along with matching because Iām not producing yet.
Does anyone have suggestions for things to help me recover, bottles/nipples for the formula feeds at home that wonāt mess up me breast feeding until Iām producing more, and ways to get him to sleep not in my arms⦠itās so hard to move a lot right now so if he doesnāt go down on his own I canāt keep getting up and down but that means I end up sitting sitting straight up and Iām not getting much sleep.
Iām sure once Iām producing milk and more healed itāll be easier but right now itās rough!! I gave in and introduced a pacifier too which Iām worried is why heās not latching as much on the right side,
Pic of little man to draw more suggestions

I honestly donāt know how Iāve managed to do that especially as a second time mum. I completely missed judged how much newborn & up to 1 months sleepsuits and vest I had from my first so I brought a few more and Iāve washed everything and was putting everything away and omg the draw is complete fully š©š I hope baby can use them for at least the first 2-3 months like my first⦠š©

Quick question, is it worth buying a nappy bin? Im pregnant with my first and I was thinking about nappy bins. My step daughter is just coming out of nappies but we would just put her dirty ones in the cats poo bin but with her she barely did poos when with us but when baby arrives I going to have a lot more pooy nappies would it be worth it getting a nappy bin. Thanks for any advice. š
