Baby drinking small volumes?

I’m struggling to increase my 11 week olds milk volume (formula fed). He’s taking anywhere between 50 - 120mls every 2-3 hours. He usually wakes twice to feed overnight and has approx 100 - 120mls per feed but he’s got no daytime routine. He very rarely experiences reflux but he does need breaks between feeds to burp & rest. He seems to lose interest in feeding after being interrupted.

Based on the formula guidance he should be having 5 feeds of 150 - 180mls over 24 hours at this age. He never gets past 120mls.

He’s gaining weight fine, but I’m trying to establish a feeding routine and it’s tricky when his feeding is sporadic. Am I being unrealistic?

Following! Ours is 9 weeks and is doing anything between 70-150ml every 2-4 hours during the day and between 3-6 hours at night. There seems to be no pattern with volumes and her average is around 100ml per feed. Also wondering if I'm expecting too much but it does make me sweat when I see mums on here with 6 weeks old having 150ml consistently!

Remember every baby is different and will take different amounts. Hows the nappy output? If you're hitting the guidelines on the nappy output and baby is gaining, I'd try not to stress too much over the volumes.

Hey! My little one is 11 weeks, she's so up and down with her drinking. She does have cmpa which doesn't help but her feeds can range from 2 - 5 oz, there's never a definite. I just let her have what she wants really, she still sleeps well on it and sometimes I've noticed she doesn't even want her full feed thats been made, she just wants a little top up and then she's happy. I wouldnt know how to make it consistent. So can't really offer any help, just letting you know you're not alone and we're in the same boat! X

Ours is the same! I found that different feeding positions change his feed amount and we also upped the teat size as he seemed to need to rest with the smaller size (it was taking too long). It’s not always a full feed, but it has helped some of them x

Hey! I really wouldn’t worry too much, check the teat size! My LG is almost 4 months old and still only on max 5oz, just follow their needs x

My baby (exclusively breastfeeding) cluster fed from 5-8weeks taking approximately 120ml every 1-2hours but as soon as she got to 9weeks, she reduced and never went passed 90ml. I was very worried about her feeding following she also had a tongue tie release. I’m happy to tell you that I went to the hospital today and the doctor looked at me like I was crazy why on earth am I bothering a healthy baby who is gaining weight like she should 😂. It’s quite dicey with babies trying to keep track of everything and then they change as soon as you think you’ve mastered their routine!

Ideas with how to keep my baby on her back for nappy changes

Hey all!

My girl is nearly 7 months and for little while she has been a nightmare to change her nappies and clothes 🫣😂
All she wants to do is roll onto her front and try crawl off the mat!

I used to be able to distract her by singing and dancing - but now I can’t find anything to distract her and I’m chasing her around her changing mat 😂 and trying to change her backwards lol

I know it’s normal for most babies to go through these stages, just wondered if anyone has found anything that has helped.?

👜✨ Show Me Your Changing Bags! ✨🍼

What changing bags is everyone using for their little ones? Especially those formula feeding!

I’ve got the one that came with his travel system, but I’m fancying a new one — looking for something stylish but practical! I’d love to see what everyone else is using! 🤍

4-month-old waking every hour at night – how can I help her sleep longer?

My baby is 4 months old, and for the past few weeks she has been waking almost every hour at night. She wants to breastfeed and then goes straight back to sleep.

During the day, she usually only naps for around 30 minutes. If I rock her back to sleep, sometimes she will continue sleeping, but other times she just stays awake.

What am I doing wrong? How can I change this, if it’s even possible? I’m exhausted. 😭

Baby doesn’t like being put down

My 8 wk baby always wants to be held. Since he was born he doesn’t like going down in his crib at all, and even though we’ve tried everything ( I mean everything! The clothes wth my scent on them, holding him for 20 mins into a deep sleep then putting him down, swaddles) he wakes up and cries as soon as he’s down. This is the same everywhere, I can put him in his rocker or play mat for around 20 mins when all the stars align and he’s in a good mood. I’m scared I’m building a stick for my own back and that he will always be clingy. Anyone gone through something similar?

How to get baby to nap alone again?

Sorry in advance for the long post...Bit of context, our baby girl is 7months and was in the NICU for 5 weeks. She has always been a terrible napper/sleeper. Bedtime routine used to be bath, boob, bottle (we were triple feeding with ebm to help gain weight), rock & put down. She would fuss a little and we might have to rock her again but then she would sleep for a few hours. We started off by putting her down for 1 nap a day and worked up, but she never managed every nap going down.
She now exclusively nurses, and getting her down for bed is much easier as she just breastfeeds side-lying in bed and once she's done I place her in her cot and she sleeps much better at night.
The issue is, at about 4/5months, she started refusing to be held when breastfeeding most of the time when we were at home. She gets very distracted and will fuss and cry and wriggle away even if she is hungry, and unless we are out of the house she will only breastfeed and nap when lying next to be on my bed. She will wake up instantly if I try to put her into her cot or if I try to get up and leave so for 3 or 4 naps a day I am feeding her and then just stuck in bed. Sometimes, its heaven because I have a great excuse for extra rest but it would be amazing to be able to get some free time back, get some housework done and socialise (if we have guests over, I feel rude and a bit silly just staying upstairs as no-one seems to understand). I have tried to avoid doing it because I didnt want it to become a habit, but she will flat out refuse to nurse any other way, and im worried about worsening the aversion if I keep trying. She will occasionally feed lying on a pillow on the sofa if I lie down too, but again she gets very distracted. Would rather not go back to rocking as it used to take me and my partner forever to get her to sleep and multiple attempts, and I dont mind continuing to feed her on my bed at night as it seems to be working well but I'd love to be able to get her to nap alone for even 1 or 2 naps a day. She will nap in the car and in her pram if she is tired enough, but will wake up as soon as we stop so it doesnt reslly give me any free time back and also means she is taking less milk and then sleeps worse at night.
Anyone else been in the same boat? Or have any advice? I'm desperate at this point 🥺

Advice

Girls, my little girl is 14 months old now and is struggling in her cot as we co slept from December right threw till about 2 weeks ago, I’ve found that when I put my pillow I don’t use in which by the way is quite thin and a lot firmer than the rest she seems to sleep a lot better but I’m terrified of her sleeping with one I’ve bought her a toddler one and again she wakes up constantly should I leave her without one and get up or is she ok with my pillow? I’m worried she’s still to young
