What's the weirdest thing that's made you gag/heave?

Co sleeping

Maybe I’m being dumb but I don’t understand the concept of co sleeping for those of you who do it when baby doesn’t stay down in their cot. Am I missing the point or is there no difference in the two? I put my baby down in the bed the same way I put her in her cot. Am I doing it wrong? She wakes up and cries and doesn’t want to stay down. She wants to be held. I’ve tried to hold her, lie down and the roll over so she still thinks I’m holding her, but there’s too much movement and she wakes up regardless of co sleeping. Do other mums hold their babies or cuddle them when co sleeping? From the lullaby trust I can see that the baby is not being held in any way, so I can’t understand how I’m supposed to sleep if my baby doesn’t want to be put down even when co sleeping..

As most of us are currently going through it with sleep, i thought I’d share the things I’m telling myself at 4 in the morning when she is frantically thrashing around trying to connect her sleep cycles.

“Despite what people call it, this is not a regression. She is not going backwards, she is learning something new.”

“She is a baby doing baby things - sometimes they don’t make sense”

“Her brain is going through a massive change. Regardless of how tired I am, she is building something that will stay with her for life.”

“I can only help give her the foundations to get through this, this is something she will learn for herself, in her own time.“

“I am lucky that get to be here to watch her learn this new skill.”

“I will sleep again.” (Probably the most important one)

I know I’m finding this period tough, because before now we had a baby who only woke once during the night. These are nice reminders I repeat to myself when I’m tired (and awake at 3:45). I hope they might be useful to someone else in the same position.

Not sleeping in crib/ bed

I’ve got a 4 week year old and since birth, they don’t like sleeping in their own next to me crib or even on my bed and if so, it can sometimes last a few minutes when I put them down 😭

Baby only sleeps if on me or their dad. Any tips to get baby to sleep on crib/ bed without waking up after 5 minutes 😭

Sleep 🫣

Hey everyone! Has anyone’s babies started to struggle to sleep?? My girl has turned 3 months old today and usually she will sleep from 8:30pm until 4:00/5:00am and now we are going from 8:30pm until 12:00/1:00am and then up every half an hour until 5:00/6:00am and it’s a struggle!! Any advice at all??? 💞

6 month olds sleep

My little girl used to sleep really well, she’d go down around 7pm and wake once for a feed normally around 4am then sleep till 7am. I have no idea what is going on at the moment but she is awful and I’m feeling so sleep deprived it’s starting to get me down.
She won’t settle now when she goes down, she’s on and off crying and whinging constantly and has been needing a feed around 12am and even then doesn’t sleep very well after, I just can’t work out what’s going on 🤯🤯 Is anyone else’s little one doing this? 🤦‍♀️ I have no help during the day, she has been napping for 15 mins maximum in the day time and I also have a 3 year old to occupy so I’m just dying for some decent sleep.
