Just curious if anyone has gone ahead with a private NIPT test? I’m not sure whether to get it or not.

I'm wondering the same thing! Have you had combined screening results yet?

Hiya. I've just had the NIPT test..results came back quicker than expected. But it was on NHS. I still would for peace of mind xx

Hi! It might depend on what’s available to you, but I was able to request and pay for this test at the hospital I attended after discussing with the NHS antenatal team. I chose to do it as I am an older mum.

I did a private NIPT with my second as his nuchal scan was borderline and they weren’t happy with it and he wiggled too much in scans.
Did a private NIPT just to make sure nothing was abnormal and got my results in 3 days.
I’d do it straight away with baby 3 just to not stress over things unnecessarily.

I’ve had one - combined testing only detects about 80% of cases

I had NIPT at 10 weeks. I’m 40 which will indicate a higher risk on combined screening and I dreaded the thought of being told high risk, then have to wait for NIPT through NHS and be told either ok or not ok. It isn’t that uncommon that mums are told high risk for all to be well.
Results were all good so said no to combined screening at 12 week scan.

Too expensive tbh, never did it

It’s well worth doing imo. I had it via the NHS due to combined screening results. If I ever go on to become pregnant again, I’d 100% book to get it done privately sooner. X
Surprise pregnancy! I have a 5 month old, and I've just found out I'm pregnant. 1 year and 1 month age gap. Has anybody got any advice or recommendations going forward? Double prams? etc

My best friend in the whole world is spotting at 10 weeks. Can you share your spotting stories so I can show them it doesn't have to be something scary? I remember how panicked I was when I spotted during my first trimester

Anyone else a little bit disappointed with how the 6 weeks check up went ?
I had mine yesterday and my dr literally asked me “are you okay”, “will you be taking any contraceptives” and “have you started your period yet” concerning me. Didn’t ask to see my stitches, was very rushed, when I would say anything she would just sort of shut me off before I could finish what I was saying. I would have expected there to be a more check to see how I was doing, ask to check stitches, even give leaflets of information if needed. Didn’t even say if I was now able to have sex ect. Didn’t even ask if I had any questions for her, it was just like as if she was running late for the next person. I know it might seem like I’m moaning about nothing but I’m also thinking of other mums and how this could of felt for others to with the sense of not everyone will say if there not okay and would think that follow up information on postnatal care would also be there

Anyone else had high pressure since giving birth?
I've had high blood pressure since a few days before giving birth and it hasn't come down despite delivering the baby.
I was admitted back into hospital at the weekend as it was dangerously high. I was given medication and monitored and it stabilised so was allowed home the next day.
Since then I have to monitor at home and it's still high, and getting very close to the threshold they gave me for going back into hospital 😭
They don't know what's causing it and I'm getting fed up now. Going back into hospital with baby and leaving my toddler at home is horrible 😢
