Anyone else a little bit disappointed with how the 6 weeks check up went ?
I had mine yesterday and my dr literally asked me “are you okay”, “will you be taking any contraceptives” and “have you started your period yet” concerning me. Didn’t ask to see my stitches, was very rushed, when I would say anything she would just sort of shut me off before I could finish what I was saying. I would have expected there to be a more check to see how I was doing, ask to check stitches, even give leaflets of information if needed. Didn’t even say if I was now able to have sex ect. Didn’t even ask if I had any questions for her, it was just like as if she was running late for the next person. I know it might seem like I’m moaning about nothing but I’m also thinking of other mums and how this could of felt for others to with the sense of not everyone will say if there not okay and would think that follow up information on postnatal care would also be there

I had the exact same experience - I came away from that feeling very unsure/ deflated. Thankfully I text my midwife and she came to my house 2 weeks after having my baby and my stitches were pretty much healed xx

You’re entitled to more than that. Ask for another appt and if they ask why, say you felt your first one was not to standard and you’d like your stitches checked. If they say it’ll be a wait for an appt say you think they’re infected, that’ll get you an urgent appt.
Consider putting a complaint in also.

I'm sorry you've had that experience, it sounds disappointing and frustrating. You can put in some feedback or a complaint if you feel it's necessary.
On the topic of sex though, the NHS don't advise there is a specific amount of time to wait now. They just say it's whenever you feel ready.
Anyone else feel really judged in their pregnancy, as if people feel like they can suddenly freely speak their opinions on everything? Being told how much weight I should have put on and how much weight they think I've gained. How I should feel at a particular point in my pregnancy and which parts should be the easy parts and when it should start to get harder. I just feel like everyone has a lot of opinions and expectations that they for some reason feel the need to voice and it's starting to get me down and it's coming from so many different people which is just making me not want to interact with people in general. I just think every pregnancy is different so it's really unhelpful when people compare and tell me what I should be going through. Pregnancy shouldn't be an open invitation for everyone to start weighing in on my life.

Just curious if anyone has gone ahead with a private NIPT test? I’m not sure whether to get it or not.

My best friend in the whole world is spotting at 10 weeks. Can you share your spotting stories so I can show them it doesn't have to be something scary? I remember how panicked I was when I spotted during my first trimester
