Has anyone needed to go to the ER for high BP after giving birth? What’s the process? I’m afraid of just getting my BP read every 15 min for 4 hrs just to either get sent home or admitted and put on magnesium for 24 hrs.
Those of you who’ve either had pre-eclampsia or gestational/postpartum hypertension, what blood pressure meds are you on? I got home from the hospital last night after giving birth on Monday and I was just told to monitor my BP and go to the ER if I get either 160 top number or 100 bottom number. I REALLY wish they had prescribed me something but they said to just go to my OB in a week for a BP check.

I had preeclampsia with my first, definitely watch it and definitely go to the ER if it’s high..I ended up in the hospital for 5-6 days and when I went home I was taking three meds several times a day. It sucked. It’s more than just your blood pressure being high too. I felt miserable, I was freezing, nauseous, my head hurt, my liver hurt, it’s not fun.

I was put on Procardia after delivery and told to monitor BP at home. I was on mag for 72 hours in the hospital.

Mine was caught while I was still in recovery at the hospital, thankfully. They gave me magnesium and had me rest for a good while. They had me on some extra BP meds while I was there but sent me home with Labatelol. My symptoms were high blood pressure, swelling in my feet and ankles, lots of floaters in my eyes, and felt dizzy.
Hi everyone. I had my 28 week appt today, my bp was 126/76, midwife wasn’t concerned but I searched it and says it’s slightly elevated 😭

I definitely failed my 2 hour glucose test on Tuesday this week, with numbers out of range on both my fasting and 1 hour blood draw. I may be rushing my doctor, but I messaged and called because I am going overseas in less than a week and need to know if I need to, say pick up supplies or be medicated. Is it normal for no one to reach out after a failed glucose test, or respond at all?

Just a positive post to say that there is light at the end of the tunnel for those of you with babies going through the witching hours! My baby boy is now almost 8 weeks old, from around 3 weeks he was inconsolable for a couple of hours anywhere between 5pm and 9pm, but the past three nights has been so much better!
It is a haaaaarrrrdddd phase though! If you are going through it, what helped me was holding him securely while bouncing on my birthing ball and singing slowed down versions of my fave pop songs (twinkle twinkle got old v fast!) and then tapping in and out with my husband when it got too much.
Hoping I've not jinxed it with this post 😅
