Had my 40 week midwife appointment today and my blood pressure was above the threshold I think she roughly said 144/94 and also a slight amount of protein in my urine. She rang triage to get their opinion but they are currently on divert due to being so full, they said it is borderline so just to keep an eye on symptoms over the weekend. She took bloods from me today and I’m back in to see the midwife on Monday to get results, recheck BP and potentially get a sweep. I am quite nervous now though as I was planning a vbac but have my pre op for c section booked in for next Friday If spontaneous labour doesn’t happen. They don’t seem overly concerned which should be reassuring but I am such an anxious person I can’t help but sit here panicking. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

If you don’t feel well please don’t let them fob you off saying they are busy or it’s borderline etc. A very similar thing happened to me with my first pregnancy 3 years ago and I kept having to push them (going back multiple times) until they eventually induced me and he was born very quickly 3 hours later so obviously needed to come out. We were both fine but it was a much more stressful experience than it needed to be!

Pre-eclampsia isn't just blood pressure though and if its only trace of protein.
Other symptoms include headaches, sudden swelling in the feet, hands and face, vomiting, visual disturbance.
I was in the same position on Monday my blood pressure was 151/98 had all the checks done and they found nothing. I'm 37 weeks.
But do remember if you're not feeling well, don't let them fob you off

I had pre-eclampsia with my first. Like you my blood pressure was high and protein in my urine. My feet also were very swollen. They tried to get my blood pressure down with medication but it didn’t work. So I was then booked in for an induction a few days later. They let me go home during this time. So while pre eclampsia is serious, I don’t think it’s something that has to be monitored constantly. I could be wrong, but that was my experience.

Does anyone else find that sometimes the baby moving hurts?? I had an anterior placenta last time and didn't experience this but I'm sometimes in pain depending on how the baby moves (not all the time). I'm just scared when I get to 30+ weeks it's gona hurt even more as the baby will be even bigger

My first came spontaneously at 38 + 3, immediately after a Taylor swift concert. I had a section booked for 39+6 so caught us off guard. But we never had to wonder when or overthink every symptom thinking could this be it.
Today is 38+5 with baby number 2. Only started mat leave a few days ago and I’m so bored already. I feel like I’ve done everything on my prep list. Really hoping this baby doesn’t come late. Statistically they say 2 days earlier than the first.

Trying to decide if I’m ready for baby 2 or not. Current plan is to start trying in Dec, but I can’t help but think my baby is just still a baby even though he’s nearly 2. The guilt is real!!! Anyone else feeling the same way? I don’t want to have a huge age gap and I’m also conscious of age! (32)

This is my 4th time being pregnant, I was first pregnant at 17 and then 18 but lost them. I had my son at 19 and I currently just started the second trimester which is making everything so much more real. I know that having my baby is still months and months away but I’m scared. When I had my son I almost died from blood loss because of hemorrhaging, and my l&d nurse told me that the next time I would give birth it could be a lot worse. I just am worried.

I’m 9 months post partum and a couple weeks ago I found out I’m pregnant with my second. I’m 6 weeks pregnant and have had high blood pressure since I’ve been checking the last 4 days. I had preeclampsia at the very end of my first pregnancy and for a few months after had dangerously high blood pressure and was put on medication. I guess I’m just worried about this pregnancy already cause I’m so early with very high blood pressure constantly. Im sure stressing about it isn’t helping. But there’s not much else I can do besides try to talk to my OB about it. Just worried I’ll be dismissed and told I’m fine.
