Reflux

Hey moms ❤️ I’m looking for some advice from anyone who has dealt with reflux or lots of spit-up with their babies!

My son Austin is 7 weeks old, and I feel like I’m starting to go down a rabbit hole trying to figure out his feeding and spit-up.

His weight so far:

* August 25 (birth): 9 lbs 9 oz
* September 8: 10.2 lbs
* September 24: 11.1 lbs
* October 6: 11 lbs 7 oz -last apt with midwife
* October 8: 11.6 lbs-first apt with peds

The midwife and pediatrician weren’t to concerned with his weight but I can’t shake the feeling something is wrong

We’ve tried Enfamil A+ NeuroPro RTF, Gentlease RTF, Kendamil RTF and Kendamil powder. We’re currently back on Enfamil NeuroPro RTF.

He spits up pretty frequently, sometimes after almost every feed. Usually it’s smaller amounts, but sometimes it’s a HUGE gush that gets all over his clothes. Some days are much better than others! He can also be hard to burp, arch his back sometimes, and get fussy.

I’ve started logging every single feed, and he’s averaging around 22–25 oz in 24 hours. I’ve noticed I’m getting SO anxious if he doesn’t hit a certain amount by the end of the day. I feel like I’m constantly watching the clock, tracking ounces and worrying about whether he’s eating enough. I’m also starting to get mom guilt because sometimes he’ll be fed by someone else and barely spit up, but when I feed him the same amount, he’ll spit up so much. It makes me feel like I’m doing something wrong, even though I know that might not be the case. 😞

Our pediatrician mentioned reflux and colic, but I’m wondering if anyone has tried a reflux formula like Enfamil A.R. or found something that helped their little one.

Did your babies eventually grow out of it? Did switching formulas help? And has anyone else struggled with the anxiety around tracking feeds and feeling like you’re doing something wrong?

Our doctor prescribed omeprazole liquid which is an antacid, once started on solids the symptoms dramatically reduced. Our LB also has CMPA so was on a hypoallergenic milk x

My baby is a spit up machine but my doctor said that as long as she’s gaining weight and peeing and pooping then not to worry. It’s more annoying for me constantly washing and changing outfits lol

My baby was the same. Saw a Neonatologist who confirmed as long as vomit isn't green/ bright yellow and she's not projectile vomiting she's fine. Plenty of wet nappies and weight gain is what they look for. She got better around 3 months old, once her muscle developed enough to keep her milk down. It's super common. I hope this helps.

Mounjaro

Is mounjaro allowed to be taken whilst breastfeeding? I’m not on it yet, but considering it as it’s the only thing that helps me lose some weight due to my health conditions.

Tired 10 weeks postpartum mum needing reassurance from formula-feeding mums 🙏

Hi mums, I’m 10 weeks postpartum and feeling so burnt out. My baby doesn't latch, so I’ve been pumping and mixed feeding. Pumping is exhausting me, and I’m really thinking about quitting.

Because I work in healthcare, the guilt is hitting me hard and I keep overthinking the benefits of breast milk. But my mental and physical health are slipping.

Would love to hear from moms whose babies are 100% formula-fed. Please tell me your formula babies are thriving and that you got your sanity back! Need some reassurance today. 🙏

Bedtime

When should I start getting my little one into a bed routine? He’s 2 months old and will go to bed with me.. normally I don’t go to bed until 10pm due to having other kids and cleaning up etc.. but is it a good idea to be getting him into his own routine and setting up a monitor in his cot or is it too early for him?

Back sleeping!!

I’m 23+3 as still sleeping on my back. I can’t for life of me stay on side. I did buy one of those huge U shape pillows but I don’t find it comfy then end up chucking it on floor in middle of night. I think it’s kinda fine until 3rd Tri. Just want to know if anyone else is really struggling to stay on there side and end up on back!

I’m genuinely at a loss. My 7 week old will not sleep on a night time. Everytime she falls asleep in my arms I go to put her down and she wakes up instantly is awake for hours afterwards
