Is This Normal

My 2 year old does not eat. It feel like she is just filling up on milk. Before she turned 2 she ate all the time and now all she seems to want is whole milk. I have tried not to give her the milk before her meals but then she just crys and I don't want her to go about her day with an empty stomach so I give in and just give her the milk.

She as suffered alot with constipation and her constipation had become so bad to the point were I was prescribed Lactulose for her to take. I was even given a lecture recently by a doctor who told me she needed more fiber in her diet which is why she was suffering with constipation.
It's easy to say give her fiber but giving a child food who does not want to eat is another story. I have tried my hardest to get her to eat her meals and she just wants milk.

Is this normal and please tell me this is just a phase as I'm getting fed up with her not eating.

Certified nutritionist here : The cow milk is making her constipated . Cow milk is for baby cows šŸ„. Period . Of course she craves it because there’s something called casomorphine in it which is addictive on purpose to make the baby calf keep coming back for more of her mother’s breast milk .

I’d get rid of the milk from the house entirely , and replace it with high water fruits like watermelons šŸ‰, melons šŸˆ, cucumber šŸ„’ etc and offer her those until she gives in and eats it. She’ll refuse at first but when she’s hungry enough she’ll try the fruits and that will hydrate her bowels and help her go potty regular again .

Avoid feeding her processed foods as they absorb water and will keep her constipated again like pastas , rice , breads, crackers etc pretty much anything made from any flour .

Hope this helps dear ! It did mine , I never gave them dairy , only some organic soy or oat milk and mostly fruits n veggies and they have had ZERO constipation . I have 3 girls under 5. šŸ¤—šŸ©·

Thank you so much for your advice. I didn't know the whole milk would be making her addicted to it. I just thought she wanted to drink it becuase she didn't like other foods so was using it to make her full.
I did try to give her Oat milk but she didn't like it. I'm going to do my best to try to get her to eat the fruits you mentioned. She does like watermelon so will be giving her lots of this. Thanks again for the feedback I really appreciate it. xx

Dummy questions!

After making it this far without giving a dummy, I'm finally caving (no judgement or questions please, just personal preference). Over the last month, my girl has started sucking on 2 fingers constantly to soothe herself and she's making them red raw. 2 people have told me recently that they think she cries more than the average baby and that breaks my heart thinking she's unhappy. So hence the decision to give a dummy... but i have a few random questions. Does your baby have access to a dummy all of the time, or just when you want them to start settling down? Do you find you're constantly waking in the night to put it back in before mouth if it falls out? I don't really want her to constantly have it in her mouth, ideally just to help soothe herself for naps and sleep. I understand there's a risk she might not accept a dummy this far along but with how much she loves sucking things, I think she will. I'm also however worried about creating yet another sleep association with it, as I am already pretty guilty of feeding to sleep

Sleeping in Swing

The only way my husband can get our 5 day old baby boy to sleep is to have him in arms being rocked or in this swing. He says he and his ex let my SD sleep in her swing for months because she needed the incline for reflux.

Google says baby should not be in the swing for more than an hour a day. But Google also says no cosleeping and I feel like swing or cosleeping might be the only ways to ever sleep.

My husband is wonderful and is taking 8pm-2am and we're barely home and already exhausted. Is this OK?

Baby clothes washing 🫧

Hi mummas!

FTM here. What laundry detergent should I use? Can I buy own brand (Aldi) or is it better to go with branded (fairy)?

Do you use fabric conditioner, or just laundry detergent?

Thank you!
