Kissing babies

How has everyone approached the subject of kissing their babies? I haven’t had much of a problem with it since he was born but now that flu and RSV season is coming up, me and my partner feel like we want to put something in place. Is it a bit hypocritical cos family have been able to kiss (on the head) our 5 month old but now I’m putting something in place?😩😬

It’s not hypocritical at all - he’s your baby and you’re just trying to keep him safe. Anyone reasonable will totally understand that xx

Times and things change, and people can change their minds with changing circumstances, or even without them. Ultimately our job as mothers is to do what we think is best to keep our babies safe x

Things change and with flu season approaching it’s totally valid, people should respect your decision x

Not hypocritical and no one is entitled to your child! We say usually that as my baby is getting older we want to protect her from the illnesses that go round at this time of year but also to let her know that she has the choice, int he future, whether she wants to be affectionate with others or not.

I would just be honest and say “whilst we have been happy for baby to be kissed on the head we would prefer it if with the upcoming season everyone could stop to keep them as safe as possible” people will understand 😊

Nursing tops?

Thinking of getting a couple of cheap nursing tops - I'm a FTM due in a couple of months.
Honestly I usually just wear leggings and jumpers so I'm wondering if I can just get away with wearing my usual and lifting my top of out of the way? But would nursing tops / jumpers be more practical?
Tempted to buy a couple but also things are getting so pricey now so I don't want to buy things unnecessarily?

Daytime naps

My little one is almost 6 months and we normally contact nap in the day (or car or pram naps) but I’d really like him to start putting him down for some naps. I can transfer him okay but he wakes up after 15 mins still tired! Any tips?

Autism signs ??

Hi, I am worried that my son has autism. I am a FTM and my baby boy is 2 years old. He can say a few words , but I wouldn’t say 50. He is always stimming “EeEe” , He sometimes responds to his name, he sometimes keep eye contact. He flaps his arms, he had trouble staying sleep & I am exhausted it’s been going on for months😩 I love my baby , but lately it’s been a lot to handle with the tantrums , he often stiffens his body when he’s upsets and kicks . Is this normal behavior for a 2 year old , or could these be signs of autism?
