Free range while showering

This is a super specific question for mamas with older kiddos. At what age did you let then have free reign in the house while you showered?

My son is 11.5 months but is fully mobile. I'm usually home alone when I shower. He gets frustrated with being kept in the bathroom with me but is also too squirmy for him to shower with me (plus I don't get in a good shower). On the flip side, I'm terrified that he'll hurt himself if I let him just wander around the house alone, even with baby gates and whatnot.

To be honest I just shower with him šŸ˜‚šŸ˜…šŸ˜šŸ˜ I don’t trust him to let him free reign while I shower and he’s 2 🄓

At that age, I kept mine in a bouncer near the shower and put snacks around it. Kept her busy for a solid 6 minute shower šŸ˜… or I would wait till after she went to bed for the night.

When she was around 14 months, I started leaving her in the loft with toys and tv during my shower, but also had a camera on her. I also closed all the doors to any other room so she couldn’t go wandering off. She only had access to come to my bathroom.

At that age I either showered with him or when he was asleep or when my husband was home. Even now, my son is 5 and I still prefer to shower when he is with his dad or asleep. Sometimes, if I need to, I put on a movie for him before I shower. However, my kid is one who Delights in making messes and taking things apart.

Daytime naps

My little one is almost 6 months and we normally contact nap in the day (or car or pram naps) but I’d really like him to start putting him down for some naps. I can transfer him okay but he wakes up after 15 mins still tired! Any tips?

Autism signs ??

Hi, I am worried that my son has autism. I am a FTM and my baby boy is 2 years old. He can say a few words , but I wouldn’t say 50. He is always stimming ā€œEeEeā€ , He sometimes responds to his name, he sometimes keep eye contact. He flaps his arms, he had trouble staying sleep & I am exhausted it’s been going on for months😩 I love my baby , but lately it’s been a lot to handle with the tantrums , he often stiffens his body when he’s upsets and kicks . Is this normal behavior for a 2 year old , or could these be signs of autism?

Tv time

A little bit of a confession honestly 🫣 my little girl is 9 weeks and watches the tv sometimes, only really early in the morning when she’s wide awake but I’m still exhausted or before we do our bedtime bath if she’s being cranky while I do the nightly reset and get all her stuff ready, usually it’s just whatever show I’m watching at the time or sometimes Bluey

How much will it actually affect her? She’s not close to the tv and we won’t be doing screens like tablets or phones for a long long while, honestly half the time I don’t even think she’s actually watching it but it makes me feel kinda guilty

Advice / Reassurance

Hi fellow mums!

I’m a FTM and my little girl is 6 weeks old today. We are exclusively breastfeeding which has been going really well, she’s gained weight beautifully and really healthy in that department.

I know around this time they say babies hit peak fussiness, but I feel like since around 3 weeks most of her awake time she spends crying, for a while I thought maybe it was trapped gas or something like that but we always seem to be able to get that up if there is anything / I am always trying to watch her cues and ensuring she isn’t getting overtired too quickly, and this works most of the time but isn’t always easy when out and about. It always feels like I can’t soothe her or get her to sleep, she just seems to cry when I try, but my partner is able to settle her almost instantly. It makes me really sad because I feel like I can’t soothe her and as her mum I so want to be able to do that, it’s worse in the evening too.
Over the past few days she no longer likes her car seat or her pram, which is making me loose my confidence in leaving the house which is having a negative affect on my mental health, I also lost a very close family member 2 days ago so feeling very fragile at the moment and I am just looking for advice from anyone who’s a couple of weeks ahead or anyone who’s been through this before/had similar experiences. I don’t know if she’s just being extra fussy at the moment and always fighting sleep, I don’t know if she can smell my milk or if I’m doing something wrong… I just feel a bit deflated.
