Babies weight length and head check, if baby has jaundice they check to see how that’s going away. They check how baby is eating.

Ours was 2 days after birth. She weighed her, checked her joints, temperature, ears, eyes, etc. Asked how nursing was going. They will most likely have you return in two weeks for another weight check and then again at 1 month after birth.

Expect for your baby’s weight and height to be taken. Also, depending on your baby’s age, shots may be taken as well! Your pedestrian should go over with you what baby should be doing at their age and something for you to start doing such as; starting foods (depending on age) in the meantime before next visit. They’ll also measure baby’s Head!

Thank you ladies

The baby is weight, temperature is taken, it is measured from head circumference and length wise... the pediatrician checks it’s ears, eyes, heart, nose. Also removes diaper to check him and asks how many diapers he goes through including both pee and poop and what color... how often he is fed if you breastfeed or do formula... and how often. Also check for jaundice if baby has any. Just a heads up the jaundice is normal and the baby will be fine. There is no need to be taken him to get blood test from his bottom feet to see how he’s doing. Baby will get it’s first shots at 2 months.

something I wish I was prepared for at the check up is them checking his temp by rectal thermometer. My baby went crazy and I felt horrible that I didn't decline which you can easily do - they then use the traditional under arm method. Why they choose rectal as the standard is beyond me and so unnecessary?!
