I want all the tips!

We're starting potty training and I want all the tips, whether you have twins or not! My girls are two and have been practicing and seemed generally ready for a while. I'm excited and feel ready, but mainly am scared about having two of them learning.

Lots of potty’s around your house will help! Also sticker charts and rewards are helping us!

Yes rewards! I always give my 2.5 year old rewards. My 1.5 year old daughter watches my older daughter & also wants to be a big girl like her sister & use the potty(which she does sometimes she’s just young & doesn’t fully understand). My hardest part was pooping in the potty. When she pees I give one reward, when she poops I give 2. Much luck to you!

A little unorthodox of a method: as kids grow older, they hate the feeling of wet/soiled underwear. With SOME kids, taking away potty training diapers and putting them in underwear will help speed up potty training because they'll really dislike how it feels to pee/poop themselves. With other kids, if you let them go around naked for a part of the day (take away "diaper/underwear" security blanket ) they'll be using the potty in no time! This is really only for Mama's that are avid cleaners because your kid will probably piss up the floor a few times haha but it usually works.

Omg. I did this with my 2 year old at the end of potty training when she would only use the potty sometimes and she only had 2 pee accidents a day for a few days but waited to poop after I put the night pull up on.

As a nanny to boy girl twins one was ready and one wasnt so I potty tried them separately we started with a boy for a few weeks then took it away and went straight ontoa seat on the toilet

My daughter definitely went more on the real toilet. I second taking away the potty after a few weeks.

Honestly, I put my 2 year old in underwear and let her tell me when she needed to go. Took a day or 2 for her to get the hang of it (she only had 2 pee accidents and 2 poop accidents). I only did treat reward (skittles: 1 for pee, 2 for poop). Only time she wears a pull up is for sleeping. Take it off when she wakes up.

I have twin girls that just turned two. I keep their potty’s in the living room and and keep them with no diapers on. They seem to be responding well. Have only had a few accidents within the last month. Also try and ask them every like 15 mins if they need to go potty and encourage it.

I've been doing ec (go diaper free on youtube) with my little one. Earlier bout a couple months ago she was doing well- we were catching about half her diapers. She seemed ready to move on. But dad didnt seem keen on more diaper free time as I was looking for alternatives before buying undies or trainers. There was a pause,we are getting back into the swing of it though. So, keep up with your kid if they are ready even if it's scary.

I don’t have much advice... but your girls are PRECIOUS!

With my daughter, she started to learn with pull ups but then just treated them like diapers. So we went to panties n training panties so she could feel when she peed. Caught on quick she was fully potty trained by 3.

Oh my goodness girl, read the book potty training in 3 days by Brandi Brucks! Game changer! Helped us potty train our daughter after our first attempt failed.

I have twins too, please if you learn anything share it. I’m at a loss, ive tried 3 times and failed because I give up. I like to go out of the house and I always have a great excuse as to why I can’t concentrate on it. My kids will be three in 2 months and I feel like I’ve failed them.

You haven't! All of my kids so far haven't been ready until about three to potty train. Each kiddo is different, hang in there girlie! ❤️

With my son I bribed him with candy. He didn’t like chocolate at the time so we used skittles. He would get one skittle for “bubbles” and 2 for poop. After awhile when he would have good potty days he would get a slushee at the end of the week

Pick something ur kid is obsessed with...for my daughter it was stickers- so I did a sticker chart! Every potty we clapped and she got a sticker! She filled up the two pages by the end of the weekend and boom potty trained! Has only had an accident like two times! It can work with stuff like that if it’s screen time maybe minutes....candy, one tiny piece of it...I’m going to use this to potty train my son! Also, it will ONLY work if they wake up and don’t pee instantly! So check their diapers if they still wake up with a full diaper they’re not ready 100% they have to dislike being wet while sleep in pull ups all night! I’ve potty trained 3 out of 4 kids with little problems different methods work for different kids so just because they are twins they may potty train differently!

Following ! I have a three year old who showed interest in potty training at two ! The only problem.... we were on a cross American road trip with lots of 6+hour hikes and countless hours of driving , so not really ideal for potty training. When we got home she had zero and I do mean zero interest ! Now she pees at the little Pottys at her "school" but refuses to try at home, I'm talking full on hissy fits. I'm at a loss.

Best of luck! Its a long road with occasional set backs and regression. But as my grandmother once told me she has never seen a bride go down the aisle in diapers. And always pack extra undies, outfit , shoes and maybe extra clothes for you too. Just last week we were out and about- the bathroom line was long and my 3 year old was crying trying to hold it. A gentleman in front said, mens room is clear we just barely, made,it. But everyone has been there - just patience and a good laugh later on makes it better

I’m following!!! I have twin boys who are 2 in a half and gosh it’s so hard. I can use all the tips as well ! Lol your girls are so precious 😇

I went straight to panties no pull up cuz she treats them like diapers! Keep on them make them go ever 30 min. Sumtimes you wont get pee out of her. My daughter was ready to be potty trained!

Whenever u go make them go. After meals and drinks. Esp in morning after they get up and before they go to bed.

We did the “potty dance” with my nephew! After he went on the potty, we would dance in circles, clapping and saying, “Potty dance, potty dance! Yay!” He thought that was hilarious and actually made it fun for us too! We also gave one m&m for 💩

I have twin girls . I’m here for tips too lol 😂. I enlisted my family. I put everyone on notice . When I think it’s time we’re taking a weekend with everyone off and making it happen. I’m terrified of potty training them solo lol 😂 . Good luck please post updates .

Your twins are so lovely how old are they I have a 5 month old boy called noah

My twins are 2 and 4 months, I also have a 5 month old too! A girl though.

Just be consistent don’t punish for accidents cause they Will happen pull ups only hender the process good luck

I've read where every 1 and half to 2 hours is when they us the bathroom mand if u make them seat for more then 10 mins it make it feel more like punishment for them. Which can make potty training last longer then necessary

I am terrified of trying to do it with my twin boys. They are 2 1/2 and just barely starting to show that they notice what is going on when they go potty so I am picking a weekend soon to try it and see what happens

Following as I have twin boys that have just turned 2! Would be great to get some tips and advice. Really interested to know what age everyone’s boys were ready to start potty training?

Following! 3yr old has refused to go on the potty, has had zero interest. What about accidents; best cleaner to tackle carpet accidents 😬

Baking soda and water paste works great for odors. Work into surface then rinse with water

Following! My three year old refuses to potty train. She turns 4 in May she can pee but refuses to poop. She always chooses to go in her pants. I’m at a loss at this point.

I’m with you, sister. My twin girls will be 4 in May and one of them sounds just like your babe. She always asks for a diaper and refuses to go on the toilet. I don’t want to give her issues, but it is definitely frustrating. I keep reminding myself that I haven’t met any adults who aren’t potty trained and try to be patient

Yes! That’s exactly what I do too. I keep giving myself that pep talk. My LO is sneaky though. She will go somewhere and poop and then avoid me so I can’t smell it on her. 🤦🏽‍♀️ I thought by now it would bother her to have it on her butt. She doesn’t seem to care though. I’ve tried making her clean herself up to see if it would make her more aware and want to be clean. (That was horrible btw, I don’t recommend it) It worked for one of my boys and I was desperate. She just doesn’t care at all. I think I’m going to commit and just push her this weekend with the tips one of the ladies put above. I have to get rid of the pull-ups though. Otherwise she will cry and be upset if I don’t put one on her. 🤷🏽‍♀️ Crossing my fingers and hoping this will work 🤞🏼🤞🏼

I don't really have great advice but I have twin girls (14 y/o now) and my experience when they potty trained they were ALWAYS in the bathroom with me and as soon as one went on the potty the other went right after. It was easier for me to potty train them then it was my son. Good Luck😊

Don’t assume that they will both get it at the same time, or that the same thing will work for both. Mine got it at different times, the first one was super curious about the whole thing and she was just determined to figure it out herself. They would both sit next to each other on the potty, but really only one of them was motivated to make it work. We abandoned the attempt with the second one, although she was physically capable she just wasn’t into it. Came back to it after a couple of months, reward charts and group celebrations and she was much better. For her having her first accident horrified her and suddenly she was onboard with potty training. I still believe the best sign they are ready to train is them wanting to do it. Involve them in preparing, set a date, they choose their reward (jelly worms here), choose their potty and where they want it to be etc. expect it to be a bumpy ride, forget about leaving the house for 3 days and review what is working or not 🤞

I have twins a boy and a girl they turn two march 9th

I have no advice but i wanna say they are so cute i also have two year old twin girls they are actually self potty trained

I think having a sticker chart or special books in the bathroom helps. I potty trained my now 3 year old that way and she was excited to go read her special books every time. Will see if that works with my next one:) good luck!

Every time my little boy peep, I make a huge party telling him how good he did!!, he loves when we do that. Also I make him dry himself with toilet tissue and say bye bye to it!! Hope it helps!

My son was potty trained at 2.5 but I slowly introduced him at 1. We tried on and off then one day he decided he was ready and wanted to learn. My daughter is almost 16 months and already starting. My advice is not to force unless they are ready. And make a routine of it. Reward them somehow. I babysit kids and I’ve seen each kid learn in different ways. It’s just a matter of finding what works for them

Need tips for hard headed 3 yr old who refuses to sit on the toilet I've gotten books to read on the toilet toys candy rewards stickers praising I sit her on the toilet every morning but wont go but as soon ass I pull up her pull up boom she goes im at a dead end idk what to do

Hi! My twins are still way too little to potty train but I used charts to potty train my toddler and it worked really well I had to taped in the bathroom and started by giving her a sticker everytome she tried to go Then once we got them I started only giving her a sticker when she was able to poo or pee on the toilet and once we filled the chart she got a prize It worked really well and made her excited to go potty

I have twins too. My wee girl has just been trained there in the last month. She took to it straight away & has hardly had any pee accidents at all! Poos are a bit harder to crack. My wee boy isnt anywhere near ready yet so hes still in nappies. If they are ready it will be much easier & if 1 is more ready than the other just start with one. Good luck xx

My son and daughter learned as soon as they turned two within a month ..... I took away diapers n used pee pads for car seat and furniture I let them run around naked at home mostly designated room and offers the bathroom every 20 min u have to be committed when we went out I use regular underwear kids don’t like to pee them selves I didn’t shame them I braught a change of clothes but still neither one of kids liked it they quickly caught on 😉. I have twins only 1 yrs old I’m personally dreading potty training them best of luck

I’m a nanny! And I potty trained twin girls a few years ago. They were quite young but very ready (22 months) I found one took to it instantly. Not one accident! And the other sit in her own wee and said nothing 😂 but all in all by day 4 we were completely dry! The odd accident from one as she was just slightly lazier at times. She needed more encouragement. I used timers to help me and made it so exciting for them each time. Happy to explain more if you need any tips! X

I recently asked my mom about this because I want my son potty trained hopefully around age 1 like she did with us so my mom told me a story of her potty training me and my 5 other siblings..she said "I just bought a pack of diapers when you were about 15-18 months and told you that once you dirty the last diaper you would have to start using the toilet" and she said that none of us had any accidents except for my sister so she stopped giving one of my sisters anything to drink after a certain time each night and it worked 🤷

Did you try this?

I need help! My twins are almost 3 and potty training has been a struggle. They were all ready at like 18 months but my husband was primary caregiver and I worked so it didn't happen then at 2 they started ripping the diaper off and running to the potty chairs but my husband yelled at them too many times. Now they don't even like to have their diaper changed. I think they are scared. They will some times sit on the potty chairs and pee with the diaper on but if I comment on it (even if it a "great job hunny") they freeze up and won't even let me change them. Tips tricks any thing please help

Hey! I will be definitely following this thread. I’m a first time mami to Boy and Girl twins. They are just about 17 months old.I’m so nervous. Whenever I have to use the bathroom I tell them mami is going to use the bathroom let’s go! And than I sing the Elmo washie wash your hands song as I wash my hands. They just like to see me wash my hands but I’m hoping this will help “peak” their interest of one day sitting on the toilet ! Lol well at least I hope it does

Girl my twins are three we have been on the thick of potty training for about a year and I’m still struggling but recently I bought potty watches and it’s been heaven sent !!

What are potty watches?!

My boys started using the potty about 3 1/2.. they started taking everything off and running around naked and they started using it. If they didn’t have anything on they had no problem. Granted I also had a problem keeping clothes on them at home and still do! They just turned 4 and I spend all day putting clothes back on so they can take them off again. Ugh!

🤗

My twins have only just started showing interest in toilet training. My girls always take there nappy and clothes off and want to sit on the toilet whenever I do. We are starting with the potty as the toilet wasn’t much success. I just encourage them to go on the potty and going to start up an award system if they do anything on the potty. My girls are 2

We just started potty training my 20 month twin boys using the naked method. So far hasn’t been the greatest but still trying. Open to any suggestions.
