Due to be induced at 37 weeks

Hi, I’m booked in to be induced on Wednesday at 37 weeks due to my little man only weighing 4lbs 8oz and has stopped growing. Has anyone got any tips on how to get through it? As silly as it sounds this is my second but my first was natural and quick at 38 weeks so just feeling a bit scared as people have mentioned it can be more distressing being induced.

Thanks in advance 😊

I would say just go with the day, bring things to pass the time and snacks. All the midwives were amazing at my hosp, it honestly wasn't as bad as I thought, just like normal Labour. Your body has done it before so will know what to do. I liked knowing that I was going to meet him on my date and plus I felt better about the actual birth as he was smaller than at 40 plus weeks 😋xx

I’m a FTM but my own mum has had four of us and she was induced a couple of times. She said it didn’t hurt at all and it went really well so not to be worried if it happens to me. Perhaps that will be comforting to you too. I think Lynsey’s comment about taking snacks is great 😉xx

I was induced at 37 weeks the only thing I can give advice on is take the painkillers offered as when they give you the hot mound drip to kickstart labour the contractions come out of nowhere and you don’t have a chance to be eased into it x
