We started putting the nursery together around 32 weeks. Which in my opinion isn’t early at all. I also don’t believe in superstitions so I just did what I thought was best. I wanted to have everything washed, cleaned and organized with enough time so I could just focus on myself and relax the last few weeks.

Mine is 95% finished. We just waiting on her crib mattress to be delivered then ill put the bed set on. Why wait if you have the free time and girl its a lot of work. It took me 1 day to wash all my baby clothes, fold, and organize it. Also..the further you get in your pregnancy the less energy you have..unless your gonna get help from your mom. My mom, sister, and husband helped me with most of it. side note: i have that same grey chair in my nursery lol What are your nursery colours or theme gonna be?

You can start now, baby can come sooner than expected so it's always good to be prepared, less stressful for you

Our furniture was delivered a month before due date so we made sure it was painted and clean before then. Currently 40+5 over due and added the finishing touches yesterday 😅 x

Ours was started/completed about 1.5 months before she was born. But, we bought a house and moved when I was about 7 months. We had to have the upstairs painted and carpet replaced. Painting was quick but carpet was a 6 week wait. So, we hung stuff on walls but we didn’t buy furniture until the carpet was replaced.

My little boy didn't get a proper nursery until he was about a year. I would have had it before he was born but we both worked full time and lack the money to get it done...my next one won't get a nursery cause we don't have the space and it makes me sad. I think your far enough along that I would start getting it ready.. .at least the basics

I started my daughters nursery around 26-27 weeks pregnant and finished when I was 35 weeks, she came at 38 weeks 3 days 😊

We purchased everything slowly but started to put the things together around week 30. I am superstitious and I pray on it everyday. We live in a small one bedroom so we wanted time to configure everything. I’m at week 39 and happy that we started this early. I now have time to rest and not feel so pressured.

If it’s bad luck, we’d never get them set up! :) Go for it!

I literally got everything ready at 38 + 7 and at exactly 39 weeks my baby was born.

We started setting up in March, for baby due end of May! I wanted everything done and ready by 36 weeks in case baby arrived early, which I know isn’t likely with my first- but, it happens. I’m now 38 weeks, the nursery is 100% decorated, bottles and clothes are washed. I’m stocked on diapers and wipes! Especially with the delivery delays, I would make sure you have everything you need for the first month or so ahead of time (ie, order now- some items will take several weeks to arrive). Also, look up what you’ll need for your own self-care once baby is born and order those supplies as well!

Legit her nursery still isn’t fully completed 😂 and she’s 4 months. We cosleep so not really a problem for me but we didn’t get the crib set up til December after Christmas and I gave birth January 11th so pretty close timing there. We didn’t get a swing until the week before birth and that went downstairs anyways. Changing table luckily we got in December so maybe when I was 35 weeks I gave birth at 38 weeks. So only thing in her nursery is a crib and changing table/dresser. Honestly didn’t really need anything else

This 👆🏻 you truly don’t have to have much. I would focus on the changing table (ours is the top of a chest of drawers), crib is optional (but it’s nice to have it done- you won’t have a lot of extra time for projects), safe place to sleep (bassinet?), diapers, wipes, a few onesies. Breaking it down to the basics might relieve some pressure. Oh and the good news- baby doesn’t know any different!

I had mine done two weeks before needless to say it was a nightmare and I got my furniture from family friends and I reused an old dresser my kids definitely wont be able to tip it over

I didn't start till I was like 33 weeks with my son.

I was induced early and panicked that I didn't have a nursery ready - they really aren't that necessary so don't worry. We only go in there to use the changing table, baby is sleeping in a Snuzpod next to us in our room for now. Facebook Marketplace was amazing for finding secondhand baby stuff in amazing quality. I think quite a bit of the things I'd bought were unwanted presents so in unused condition

Why is it bad luck? I feel it is better and smart to start earlier just in case baby is born early

I started quite early I think 2nd trimester. I bought a lot second hand through fb marketplace as and when I saw a good deal. You don’t want to be worrying about it at the end or very big when you’re trying to get things ready.

Yup that’s what we’re doing upcycle

My mom is the most traditional Italian and she also says it's bad luck to get anything until you're 7 months pregnant... I'm only 16 weeks and I basically have everything ready!😂 I found so many things either for free or really cheap on Facebook market and I'm using the spare time of the quarantine to get as much done as possible! Since when I'm further along I'll be bigger and tired and probably back at work... I think do it when it feels right... You might not even really need a nursery if the baby sleeps with you but I personally love looking at the room coming together it makes me feel like I'm ready!! Good luck!! X

My girl shared a room with her sibling so we had to rearrange, add, & get creative. Her whole room was done by about 30 weeks, minus the stuff from my shower. I started working on it maybe 10 weeks. Regarless of gender, babys room was going to be harry potter & I'm big on 2nd hand so I started facebook shopping early

With my first everything was ready for 2 weeks before...my second....welllets just say the cot is still not put together and it's still used as storage for stuff I need to get rid of 🤷🏻‍♀️ my boy is 3 months old tomorrow. I learnt after the first there is no rush as they aren't going to be in there until they are 5/6mnths old. As long as you have storage and the general decorating done (because of paint fumes etc) I wouldn't stress too much about it.

We started working on our nursery in November of last year and I gave birth on February 20th. We had to completely remodel a room, so I wanted to make sure we weren’t rushed, plus I went crazy buying things and needed to be able to store them. With the exception of a few decorations, we were finished by January. I liked having it finished early, it became a feel good/calming space for me. I’d be happy to share photos with you, if you’d like.

I only had the crib set up 4 weeks before due date so if my baby arrived early, i knew she had a place to sleep and i personally am comfortable changing her diaper on a couch or the floor. The day we brought her home, we got a pack-n-play that had a changing station and bassinet attachment set up to make. Go at your pace. Traditions and superstitions are what make us and our families unique but just focus on what YOU are comfortable with because it's YOUR baby and life :)

I wanted to make sure I have everything ready but you really don’t need anything but a bassinet and changing table. Although it was nice to know that everything is already set up by the time we got home from the hospital because when the baby is here all you are doing is feeding changing rocking etc... you don’t have time to put things together... I think it’s safe to get it ready right after the baby shower because you won’t have time or energy when the baby’s here. And if the baby turns faster than anyone’s baby you know the only safe place will be in a crib or travel crib. So I think getting everything set up is crutial

Facebook market place is the best for changing tables, cribs you could buy the mattress new... but don’t go there alone, or send your hubby brother

Also if you didn’t get the diaper genie at your baby shower just buy it at Facebook marketplace, have someone help you disinfect it.

I did everything super early even my baby shower because since I was due February 3 I wanted to do the shower before the holidays. So I think I was only like 28 weeks at my shower. So I had already been gifted the crib. I think painting was done a week or two before the shower. I had my hospital bag packed at like 32 weeks ! It must have been mommy intuition because my water broke at 34 weeks & 6 days 😅 even my doctor was surprised I had a whole hospital bag ready lol 😆

I was worried about jinxing it by buying stuff to early but we started early 2nd trimester because we wanted to spread the cost!

We were moving qt lot when he was little so he didn't get a nursey until he was around 8 months old. Honestly, he slept in our room and I changed him on the bed so we wouldn't have used a nursery much anyways. Even now, it's mostly a play room that he naps in. You do it when you're ready too. Fb marketplace is good, or places like goodwill, once upon a child etc. As far as decor goes, hobby lobby has some great nursery theme sections

I started mine around 16 weeks 🙊

My girl is 4 months old next week and nursery is more like a storage room for crap I haven't had chance to take to the tip 😂

Honestly my son is almost 2 months and I still do not have his nursery ready. We planned prior to have him sleep in our room for the first year so we didn't bother.

My son is 8 months and the nursery isn’t finished 🤣 He’s going to be sleeping in my room for as long as he’s waking multiple times in the night, and when he starts sleeping more I’ll get his room ready and move him! Currently has his clothes and a changing table etc but also lots of my clothes 🤣

We started maybe a couple weeks ago at the third trimester, but had already started buying stuff at about 20 weeks just in case and so the economic burden wasn’t too bad all at once

I'm in the progress of getting it ready now (28 weeks.) Since we got all the furniture used I started refinishing furniture to all match a few weeks back but didn't start really setting up the nursery until last weekend. I probably would've started right when we found out gender if I could have but we knew we were going to move so no point. We did wait until 12 weeks to buy baby stuff just in case but beyond that I didn't worry about it being too soon. I'm an obsessive organizer and the idea of having to rush to get everything cleaned and together last minute stresses me out.

I finished my daughters nursery two days before my scheduled c section at 37 weeks. She has never slept in there and I only nurses her in there for about a month during the night.. I am 28 weeks pregnant with number two and he isn’t getting a nursery. He will sleep in my room like his sister. 🤷🏻‍♀️ He will have a bassinet until he outgrows it and then go in the crib for as long as he wants and if that doesn’t work out then he will come to bed with me. I think a nursery is overrated. Babies are supposed to be close to momma.☺️

I started mine as soon as I hit the 3 month mark. I delivered 3 weeks early and didn’t have time to finish her room before she was born. Highly recommend finishing it during the second trimester because that’s when you feel the best anyway!

Our nursery wasn't ready until after baby came. Had her at 37 weeks. We had our bassinet out and the change table basically. I would suggest having it ready before the last month. It was a bit stressful having the house not ready and not thoroughly cleaned before she was born. Husband had to do a lot before we came home.

Whenever you have the energy really

You can usually find some really good things on Gumtree...

I feel like you should start. It’s better to have it all done early. Once their here it’ll be harder to set up. I’m going to use some regular items and dress them up to be for a nursery.

I am currently 35 weeks, we have everything we need for the nursery but it’s not set up as my husband is currently using it as an office

Well I’m nearly 15 weeks and done nothing my friend is a few weeks ahead and done so much 😂 I felt like I was slacking

We started buying stuff early but didn’t get everything put together and hung up and with clothes and stuff until around 33/34 weeks. But we also were stuck in isolation. So I needed something to do! But I would have started it earlier, because the last three weeks of my pregnancy I could barely stay on my feet for more than a half hour at a time.

I probably didn’t start setting mine up until around 30 weeks. We didn’t even have a crib in there until she was 4 months. (We had a bassinet in our room) Honestly, I don’t think it’s necessary to have it set up before the baby comes, its just more convenient for some. 🙂 Good luck for whenever you choose to set up your nursery!

I had the urge to "nest" and get everything ready at 6 months preggo

Around 35 weeks

I literally didn’t set up the crib until the night before I was supposed to be induced. Her dad put it together and my brother and sister moved it to the bedroom. I already had everything bought but just not organized until that night. This time around, the crib is in place. I’m 31 weeks and I have mostly everything in place except I haven’t been able to find nb diapers in town so I ordered them today online. I’ve been wanting everything in place but decided to wait til I was further along to really get everything where I want it.

I got it ready gradually so I felt more at ease bit by bit I got most of my stuff of Facebook buy swap and sell great stuff off there hope it helps

Completely personal preference! I started literally from 8 weeks pregnant as was so excited to get started but you really don’t need to at all - just bare in mind deliveries taking longer atm (especially Ikea) - ebay is great though we got our snuz pod for £50 with everything & just bought a new mattress xx

I put everything together and hung up and set up early- 5 months and I’m glad I did bc my girls were born at 27 weeks and were in hospital for 3 months b4 they came home and the whole time they were in nicu I did nothing but go and be with them come home to sleep and same thing next day. Congrats on ur little

My baby is 8 weeks. A nursery is still not done. We have a next to the bed cot and a changing mat.

I would Start now. I waited thinking it was bad luck and went into labor at 36 weeks and had nothing set up! Luckily my parents and sister set it up while I was in the hospital
