my baby is 6 months old and tonight he rolled himself onto his belly while sleeping with his face smashed into the mattress and it really stressed me out ... is it okay to leave him there or no? google says if he rolls himself there it’s fine to leave him but lord my nerves couldn’t handle it 😭
i rolled him over and when i rolled him over he woke up and rolled back over and started crying.
we go to the dr in a couple days so i’ll ask what he recommends but just wanted to know your guys’ take on it too.

I was always paranoid about that too. I would say that if he can roll both ways (front to back and vice versa) then it should be okay, just move his head so it isn't smushed in the mattress 😅.
My daughter likes to sleep with her face tucked right up against the side of her bassinet so I totally understand. I'm constantly having to move her around.
But definitely talk with your Dr about it. Its normal, especially at that age but having a medical professionals opinion will hopefully put you more at ease with the transition 😊

I have heard it's ok if they do it themselves but idk mine rolls over in his sleep a lot and always seems fine

I was so worried when my son did this too! I watched him like a hawk for at least a week.. then I got the nanit to track breathing etc. We also have a breathable mattress which gives me some peace of mind. I'm sure you're fine now, but gl!
