First pediatrician visit timeline

I had my baby at 35 weeks last week. He was just released from the NICU. Our first pediatrician visit isn’t until Monday. Is that too far away? I might try to call in the morning to see if there are any cancellations. I just don’t want to go too far out date wise and maybe miss something wrong.
