Lots of water to flush out your system, as well as Cranberry juice.

If your from the uk a chemist can prescribe a 3 day antibiotics for UTI if you go in and ask!! X

Avatar

Lots of fluids x

Just go to a pharmacy you don’t need to see a doctor to get uti meds x

I would still contact the doctor, 3 days meds is never enough for me, I need minimum 7.

In the mean time drink plenty of water. Water with lemon is good too. If you opt for cranberry look for a sugar free one x

Ural sachets work a treat, help stop that acidic urine and associated burn.

I have had more UTIs in my life than I can count. Buy AZO from the pharmacy (located near the tampons and pregnancy tests). It will help with the pain and frequency. Also tons of fluid.

Cranberry is great for consistent urinary health but it’s not going to do much of shit on its own once you already have one. And go to the doctor - you need a course of antibiotics to ensure it doesn’t become a bigger and more severe bladder and kidney infection. I usually just visit an urgent care clinic for this.

If In the U.K. Ring 111 or refer yourself online and you will be seen at an emergency out of
Hours - I wouldn’t wait until
Monday as it may get worse. As a sufferer of UTIs my whole adult Life on and off - they are horrible so I feel
Your pain And I always seemed to get one on a Friday night when the GP was shut. Drink lots of water, sit in a warm bath (obv not too hot for baby) as that can ease some of the pain if you have any. Despite what the internet says -
Do not drink cranberry juice as it has so
Much sugar in and I was strongly advised to avoid it as can actually make UTIs worse x

It’s not extreme - UTIs can turn into nasty kidney infections very quickly (I had one that was nearly at my kidneys - it was horrible I felt awful for about a week even on antibiotics) x x x I always need more than 3 days of meds to shift them - most of the time it’s a weeks course x

Just take antibiotics

If you can’t get anti biotics from the chemist then get cystopurin sachets. You can get them from any supermarket/ boots etc. They help somewhat with the uncomfortableness until you can get the anti biotics from the doctor. Good luck, I hate UTIs!

I had this and called the pregnancy assessment unit at my hospital. They checked it and gave me antibiotics

Water and cranberry juice help a lot

Avatar

Tons of fluids if you can. Also if you can find it blueberry juice or cherry juice (no added sugar) is more potent than cranberry. For pain you can take a warm bath the heat will help relax your muscles and the urge to pee spasms. You can grab AZO from the pharmacy as a temp help and get more potent meds on Monday from your doctor. Just keep drinking as much fluids as you can to run this out of you.

Yeh the antibiotics help very quickly . I think if u call 111 they can also prescribe them , not sure tho ... try to call them , I know it’s very unpleasant .

I used to have recurring UTIs in high-school, started using organic coconut oil in there and I haven't had one since. Just my personal experience

Avatar

I had this at 6 weeks and it got worse very quickly (before I even knew I had a UTI) - I ended up with sever stomach/back pain and almost fainted. I called 111 and they made me an appt at the local urgent care centre for antibiotics. Think it’s better to treat it ASAP when pregnant

Avatar

NHS 111 may be able to help. Self care tips: avoid caffeine, drink water (2 litres a day, not too much as causes excess urination which is uncomfortable, nor too little) avoid tight underwear and clothing

Avatar

Lots and lots of water. I’m 19 weeks and I thought I had UTI and I was constantly peeing. I think the way the baby was positioned put a lot of pressure on my bladder and made it feel kinda like a UTI.

Avatar

I think if you pop into a pharmacy they can help too x

My dr recommend femannose for these situations. He said it’s similar to an antibiotic but you can get it over the counter (at least you can in Germany) at health stores. Definitely go to the dr as soon as you can even if you can get it and it does work. If you can’t find that an apple cider vinegar bath can work wonders to ease the pain till you get a real antibiotic! Best of luck!

If you speak to your Maternity Assesment Unit at the hospital they will see you and prescribe Antibiotics before Monday x

Cranberry juice and vitamin c (I dont know if we can have vitamin c) it changes the acidity level and bacteria cant grow anymore. Plus drink plenty of water to flush it out. Hopefully you can get rid of it soon.

I had an uti recently when I found out I was 5 weeks pregnant and they made me take a prescription that was safe for the baby twice a day for 7 days and things got better. I had the worst cramps and pains before the medicine. I’m just happy they caught it because an uti can affect other parts of your body if you wait too long and damage it permanently. Just make sure you ask them to give you medication that is also good for the baby so it doesn’t harm the baby.

Get some D-mannose! It's a supplement. It works for me. I take it right when I start feeling one coming on and it goes away.
If you're feeling pain and irritation, you can also drink some warm water with about a teaspoon of honey and it will subside. I used to get UTIs continuously. I would still go to your doctor during the week though.
