Cervix cerclage: positive and negative experience please!!

I might need to a cervix cerclage as my cervix has already started to shorten and is below the norm (I’m 18 weeks) but I’m a bit worried about it. Can you please share your experience? Ie. Did you bed rest even with a cerclage, did the cerclage failed and you still went to labour before the cerclage was removed? Did you get infections etc?

Thanks in advance!!

I had a cerclage placed at 19 weeks and I’m taking cyclogest every day until 34 weeks. I’ve only had it in for 5 weeks but I feel more confident with it everyday. I do try to keep my feet up when I can, no lifting etc x

I had a cerclage placed at 17 weeks due to my cervix shortening and a previous late loss. I’m also taking cyclogest suppositories. I have weekly checks to check the length of my cervix and it’s looking good. I feel so much better now I have it in. I take it easy mostly but I’m not on strict bed rest xxx

I had a cerclage put in at 12 weeks due to a previous late loss, I’m on cyclogest 400 daily, was a really easy procedure and I haven’t been told I need bed rest, I still do daily things and go on occasional walks, just nothing strenuous and don’t over do it, I have been told il have it removed around 4 weeks before my due date and there is a chance I could go into labour after having it removed but all depends on how my cervix is
