Okay so FTP over here, I’m also super sensitive to my body in general - so these last 16 weeks have been a living hell for me... grateful, but the struggle is real.
Two things I cannot wait for once I have my little girl is: 1. To be able to brush my teeth without throwing up EVERYTIME 😭 & 2. To be able to walk, I’m having knee pain already that is making life hard. (A nurse that is on your feet everyday, not a great career choice when your joints hurt ha ha.)
Anyways, to make everyone feel a little better... can you all tell me what things you are experiencing that the rest of the population kindly forgot to tell you about in all the excitement, or what you’ve been lucky enough to have bestowed upon you that no one else seems to have got.
All the love from my little vampire & me. You are all doing an amazing job 💕💕

The gas. Oh god, the gas. 😂 My fiance jokes about how I could fuel the car with how gassy I am now.

Omg!!! Me too- the teeth brushing and vomiting has been so bad for me. In my first trimester the taste of tooth paste made me get sick instantly, longer down the line I got used to the taste but the sensation of brushing makes me get sick!! I feel you on that one😩

I’m so glad I’m not alone! I dread brushing my teeth.. I get about 4 brushes in before I start gagging 😩 Who even knew this was a thing?! 😂

Restless leg syndrome and feeling like I got hit with a 2x4 to my pelvis daily. 😩

My clothes, our toilet seat and sheets all turn pink! From my skin loll. Apparently this could be from your hormones/chemicals mixing with your prenatal vitamins. Its crazy

Constipation and piles 😬 especially if you end up with low iron and end up on prescribed iron tablets which are like 1billion times the recommended daily allowance!!!
Oh and the first time I gave birth, nobody told me (I certainly didn't see it in any of my maternity books either) that you have to give birth to the placenta after baby is born... Its not a problem or painful for anyone who hasn't been through childbirth before, was just a bit of a shock to have someone tugging away at the cord to try and encourage it to come out- the strangest of sensations lol.

I am the queen of spicy but couldn't do it for the time I was pregnant ... my body just became hyper sensitive to it

Looking like s**t and not glowing at all lol! Having a pregnancy mask is something I have just now and no one talks about them lol I look like I’ve fell asleep in a really cheap tanning salon 😎 lol
Heartburn?? Wtf! I didn’t have this last pregnancy and mother of god it’s killer! Bad enough u have to pee in the night 200x u can’t sleep either cos of the burning 🥵🔥 in ur throat! Honestly I could list loads lol 😂 ☹️x

Gagging when brushing my teeth is the worst!!!! My husband thinks it’s hilarious. Strong food aversions...I swear my nose can detect all the gross smells and none of the nice ones. The weirdest dreams for me too. They’re so vivid and I wake up exhausted because I feel like I’ve actually been doing whatever happens in my dreams!

I'm in my second trimester and I would like my nipples to calm down - they are more sensitive than they need to be! Luckily, ice packs actually do help (I was skeptical at first)

I was really hoping I wouldn’t get the swelling. But my feet and ankles are sooo hard to keep down.
Then there’s the leg cramps at night 😭😭
And the constant change between loving my body and being so impressed at what’s it doing.... to hating it and being so miserable about all the changes.
Genuinely cannot wait to be a mum to my baby girl but holy heck this is a ride 😅

Thrush! I never used to get it. Now I just feel gross down there

1. Reoccurring UTI’s at the beginning without symptoms that easily turn into kidney infections that you definitely feel.
2. Pelvic pain so bad it hurts to turn over in the bed.
3. Heartburn from hell and waking up choking on what I can only presume is stomach acid coming up in the middle of the night.

When your water brakes... 1) it doesn't stop coming out. 2) it hurts. You crave some really weird sh**. Like I litterally drank some laundry detergent once with my first born. And wanted to eat clay, and rocks. 🙄

Diarrhea

Intense acne...if you look at a pic of me before pregnancy (my profile pic) and a pic now...I look like a totally different person.
Everytime I look up maternity outfits I see these gorgeous glowing pregnant woman and I just feel like a fat waddling blob

I had the worst vertigo during my 1st trimester! It was probably the worst feeling I have ever experienced... had it once every other week 😭 and it lasted for hours.
Also, heartburn in my 3rd trimester....
don’t wish this upon anybody.

The nasty taste in your mouth constantly ! The smell I hate that I can smell things so much

My sense of smell!!! Omg I cannot wait to get over this once my son is born! I’m 24 weeks pregnant and that’s it, everything smells disgusting and I can smell the faintest smells. I hate it so much it affects me badly. I think I’m even smelling things that aren’t really there.....

That morning sickness doesn’t always stop in the second trimester.... 31 weeks and it’s still going strong daily 😩

1: All day morning sickness! Feeling dizzy and unable to function like my normal self coz everything I eat/drink comes out😭
2: fatigue fatigue fatigue. Feels like I’ve been running marathons in my sleep. I wake up tired, sleep almost all day and barely able to get work done around the house. Stopped work for couple of weeks now
3: Migraines. I have no other words to describe it honestly.
4: reflux. Disgusting feeling down my throat like some sort of acid is stuck there and I can taste it every time!

The smell of my husband was nauseating up until 14 weeks 😂

Excess earwax! I feel like I have to clean my ears out 3x as often. It really caught me off guard.

Bless you, I'm a nurse too so I know exactly what you mean! It gets better then worse usually. 😅 Good news, I can now brush my teeth, I've got more used to having a nose like a bloodhound and my food adversons stopped (even stuff like a different texture in the meal was enough to make me throw up). Bad news, in last trimester that fatigue and slowing down comes back with vengeance and you get random kicks to the bladder or lungs 😂

I cant sneeze without gagging... not sure what that's all about as I've never experienced it before until now... Also not being able to eat my favourite foods as the thought or even smell of them alone make me feel like I'm going to vomit everywhere 🤢

Over heating/hot flashes. Dizzy spells. Easily winded. Entire body pain. Non stop bloat. Constipation 🤢🤮

Sore hips and swollen gums, nobody ever prepped me for these!

The stretching pain and itchy belly! If I don’t moisturise I get so itchy on my belly - I guess just where it’s stretching. The round ligament pain is no joke either!

When I was pregnant I had some serious excess saliva- I was dribbling like a boxer dog 🤣🤣

All of it is awful, feel like I’ve had all the pregnancy symptoms ever 😫 sickness and migraines at the start. Now I’m further along, I’m getting bad lower back pain and horrendous pains in my stomach, that feel like stretching and I can’t move at the moment without wincing. I’m enjoying feeling her kick, and watching my bump grow but I just want it to be over with and have her here! X

Verryyy little patience, I’m loosing my balance, acne, extra earwax, constantly feeling the need to pee and when I go it’s just a tiny dribble, the discharge, snotty nose, always out of breath (I gotta stop and take my mask off at the stores most of the time), I’m ALWAYS hot, very little sex drive, and I’m always tired 😂😂
Someone said we should have a pregnancy glow??? I just wanna know where mine is!

I’m in the 2WW so not even sure if this is a thing, but my nipples 😳😳 I’ve got this stinging burning sensation for days, like I tripped and boob-planted a patch of stinging nettles!! Did anyone else have this? Should I just be looking for new washing powder 🤣🤣🤣

I had to go to the toilet probably 2-3 times at night being 3 weeks pregnant till the end. so I never slept through the night. just starting now and my younger girl is 2. She is still sometimes waking up at night.
