I am worried I have an incompetent cervix. I’m 16 weeks and my cervix feels slightly open like it would during a period? I can fit a finger tip in there. Has anyone else experienced anything similar?

Ok first, did your doctor tell you to check your cervix? If not please stop. Also if you have an incompetent cervix your doctor will rectify if need be

Why are you shoving fingers into your cervix. Please go and see your midwife or doctor. You're risking infection by doing that I'm in absolute shock!!

Pretty sure you shouldn't be checking your cervix yourself? You're not trained in what to look out for or anything. It also seems like an infection risk to me 🤔 and if on the off chance you do have an incompetent cervix I don't think sticking your fingers up there would help

I mean to everyone saying why are you putting your fingers in there... I'm pretty sure she'll be washing her hands before it and it's not like it's any worse than a penis! Probably much cleaner, and the fact that it is a change from normal is probably why she's concerned.
To OP, this is perfectly normal, your cervix starts to feel softer during pregnancy around about that time. I wouldn't try to stick your finger through your cervix as you may irritate it, but gently touching the outside is fine. Unfortunately Google won't be your friend here, so try not to panic. You can mention it to your midwife to put your mind at rest, and they might be able to get you booked in for a check, but it is normal for your cervix to feel like it would at ovulation at this time :)

Wow, so much my judgement going on, and for what? Offer information and advice but literally no need for rude opinions...
Anyways, I don't have much information on this but I hope your doctor can ease your mind!

Guys it’s 100% fine to check your own cervix lol
You don’t need to be “trained” 😂

perfectly fine to check your cervix🙄 i’m sorry so many people are speaking to you as if you are dumb.
i have incompetent cervix & my first baby died because of it at 21 weeks. i will always advise mommas to get checked out. a quick ultrasound will tell your doctor what’s going on with your cervix. i didn’t check my cervix so i had no idea about any changes. all of that to say, i would go to the ER☺️ even if you find out it is nothing, it’s better to be safe.
