Feeding help

My 4 week old is bottle fed expressed milk with maybe 1 formula a day.

He is so fussy on the bottle during the day the last few days but fine at night, almost tries to chug, squirms, goes all red in the faceand then gets really upset, he doesn’t settle at night for more than 1.5 hours currently. I’ve tried 0 and 1 teats no difference, I’m starting to wonder if my milk just isn’t doing it for him, as when he has a bottle with formula in he will settle for a good 2.5 hours at night in the first stretch. We are pace feeding, burping frequently and have added a nappy change half way through to give him a break.

Feeling like a failure, overwhelmed, ready to give up exclusive pumping and quite frankly need some advice or words of encouragement please!

Feeding schedule problems

Hi,

I feel like I've gotten myself into a bit of a mess with my little ones bottles and I don't know how to change it but I really feel like it's affecting his acceptance of food now and it's just making me feel down and like im doing everything wrong.

Okay so he's 9 months old and he's still having 7 bottles in 24 hours.

His schedule looks like this 5.30 wake 6 bottle (tends to take around 3 or 4 ounces) 7.15 breakfast 8.45 bottle (tends to take 6 or 7 ounces) and nap 12 ish bottle (takes around 4 ounces) 1 try for some lunch but usually doesn't take much at all 2 ish bottle and nap (varies but around 5 ounces) 4 ish bottle ( because he won't last till bed time bottle and takes about 2 or 3 ounces) 5 try some tea but varies now much he takes 6 45 ish bottle (usually around 4 or 5ounces) 2am (usually takes 4 or 5 ounce)

I started to give him bottles before his naps when he was teething and wouldn't take milk but he would when he was sleepy. And they've become his biggest feeds. Now he won't lash long enough to have a decent nap if I don't?

I just feel like I've made all the mistakes

Baby products

Formula and wipes please

Hi. I just wondered what formula is recommended for babies - and wipes. I looked at water wipes but the reviews are not great - quality wise- which I could imagine but I know they are best for baby.

On the off chance too- I am looking at sterilisers and 13 years ago, I had a microwave one… are these still good for use? And will they fit the MAAM bottles ?

Sorry…. I am panicking now I have three months and I don’t really have much more than clothes, some nappies and bottles…. Need to get a move on ! Thank you in advance for the advice !

Formula

Constipation since moving to formula

I have just moved my baby exclusively to formula, she is 16 weeks old. She was combi fed from pretty much birth, started 90% breast milk and the rest formula and I’ve progressively moved her more towards formula; in the past week she has been exclusively on formula. Since then she has shown signs of constipation - gas, flatulence, straining and only one bowel movement per day (vs previously 3-4). I know this can sometimes happen but I’m wondering if there’s anything I can do to help her adjust quickly as she does seem in distress? I give her one sachet of Optibac probiotics in the morning with her first bottle and have done so since she was 10 weeks old.

Supply decreasing

The last few nights my baby has not fed in the night or will only latch and fall asleep and so isn’t drinking. In the daytime it’s generally been fine until yesterday where I noticed less wet nappies. I pumped to try and increase my supply and that’s when I noticed I’m barely even pumping 2 oz.

What can I do?

My baby is exclusively breastfed and has refused almost every bottle on the market. I’ve tried all the tips to get baby to take a bottle but with no luck. I’ve tried a sippy cup too again no luck.
