So my little one is 7weeks old and was first on aptamil she was awful on it , bad tummy , gas , silent reflux , rashy dry skin she was gagging choking on bottles , we pace fed to no avail to the point she became constipated and was refusing feeds , we switched her milk to hip and she seemed a little bit more settled for about a week or so but the choking continued so we changed bottles and teats although slightly better she does do it often a lot ,uncomfortable stomach continues … to two weeks ago her rash was just getting worse to the point it was always there and would flare up during feeds so took her to the gp who said she had silent reflux which I had noted regurgitation , and with all her symptoms prescribed amptamil pepti 1 also noted tongue restriction …within days her rash went she was bright and alert less sleepy , however her constipation returned aggressively she’s been screaming after a feed can’t pass gas hasn’t pooped . Aptamil pepti is very thin so you can imagine it’s made the choking risk greater ! Napping ten minutes if that and waking due to pain . She been that bad my husband gave her a bottle of hip as we still had the tin … she slept for hours ! So back to the gp who said to put her back on hip if her rash returns back and a different brand of prescribed milk she will issue .. she’s given me baby gaviscon even though it can constipate she’s on limited doses bed and morning to help her reflux … and also a emergency bottle of lactulose.. just incase she hasn’t gone by tomorrow night … she’s had a few ready made bottles as I know they are ment to help babies poop but still nothing ! We’ve tried everything to help her poop and pass gas all the exercises , massages and she’s still in pain . She’s seen the health visitor today for review and she checked and stated she has a thick tongue tie ! Even though it was never picked up at hospital and would be contributing to her reflux etc . Am at such a loss … how can she react to hip so badly randomly and then today he ok ??… any ideas on helping her poop before giving the lactulose ?
