Work & money

Im pregnant with my first and ever since I can remember thinking about being pregnant I have always wanted a natural birth but I’m overwhelmed!

Any advice in getting prepared for natural birth would be very helpful! Im due in August and feel like I have time but also feel like I should be making important decisions already. Just trying to find the right doula, midwife, birth center or at home birth has all been a lot for me to wrap my brain around.

Thanks!

Tens unit?

If I can avoid an induction this pregnancy then I’d like to also avoid an epidural. I’ve heard good things about using a tens unit for some pain relief anyone have any experience with those? Also which one should I buy? Are there any affordable options?

Any tips for unmedicated delivery?

I'm pregnant with my fourth child and am REALLY motivated to have an unmedicated natural birth. My first birth was my twins, I had a planned c-section that went amazing but I felt like I was robbed of even trying to birth them naturally. I was extremely uneducated and didn't know much about what was happening. My second birth, my daughter was born at 17 weeks vaginally with no pain intervention. My worry is that after delivering her I hemorrhaged before delivering the placenta and had to be put under, but my doctors still support my desire for natural and unmedicated. Any tips of getting through contractions and progressing labor?

Free natural birth education resources?

Hi! I am interested in learning about how to manage pain during labor and delivery without medication, and was interested if anyone has any free recommendations? YouTube videos, books, etc? Specifically breathing/meditation/visualization.

Prepping for a second birth

So I didn’t get to have the natural birth I wanted to have with my first and am still struggling to live with that. But I now know that I cannot have an epidural again as my concern for having it was the fentanyl being in my system and now knowing how I react to it I won’t be doing that again. Not a negative reaction but I don’t need to encourage any potential issues from forming. How do I prep for the main portion of labour from 4-10cm? I found once my waters were manually broken it became extremely painful suddenly to the point that I could barely force myself to sit still when the epidural was placed. (Super painful to sit still during a 60 second contraction😐🥲). I desperately want to have a natural birth with my second when we do decide to have our next kid and going forward do not want to involve interventions unless required to. Did your partners stay in the room during the labour when it got to the painful parts or did they leave the room? Because I want a natural birth going forward for all our kids he isn’t sure he even wants to be in the room during labour which is heartbreaking. Any advice for prepping for a natural birth is welcome and if you know how to mansplain this to a guy please let me know because he is not understanding why I regret the epidural so much with our first.
