Afro-carribean UK 🇬🇧 Mama's

Its been an exhausting week at work completely horrendous. I promised myself I would enjoy my weekend and try and cook something when I had energy. So after plenty rest I managed a good dinner this evening. Plantain, fried rice, chicken, corn and coleslaw/salad.

Hello🖐 to all the new members that have joined the group. I created this group for all mothers to share culture, traditions, receipe's, motherhood, and anything else they would like to share. Or share tips, advice etc

Background- I am a mother to 2 year old toddler. I WFH and my daughter attends Nursery. My parents were Nigerian Yoruba and my daughter is half Caucasian Colombian and Nigerian. I enjoy cooking foods from a variety of countries. And grew up im a mixed ethnic background and Afro- Carribean family so had lots of different food influences.

As someone who comes from a west african background, but who also has mixed family, culture and upbringing. My food is often diverse. As my daughter is half Colombian I also try and make sure she eats a mixture of African and Colombian foods.

So for this festive season our plates 🍽 will look like ;

Jollof rice, fried rice, Empandas, Plantain, jerk chicken, Moi Moi, Puff Puff, roast vegetables, stuffing, gravy, mint sauce, suya gizzard, roast potatoes, meat pies, spring rolls etc.

And what ever else I have the energy to put together 😆🥳🎄🎄

Today's my daughter's Christmas Party at Nursery. She was so looking forward to this. Bless her 🙏 I hope she has fun today. I tinselled up her hair make it Party ready lol 🥳😆🤣🤣
