Fingers in ears

Has anyone experienced this ? If so have you found out what is the cause. We went to the doctors about it last week as it’s gone from our lo just rubbing their ear lobe to actually putting fingers in their ears more frequently recently so they gave us antibiotics just to ensure it wasn’t an infection which we have just finished off a couple of days ago and lo is still doing it so we are going to go back as they advised. But was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and found out what it is so we have an idea of what maybe causing it. Unsure if this is an early sign of autism or ahdh. We know there is a possibility of lo having either as they are both hereditary in my partners family. He has adhd himself, his little brother has both and his sister is currently undergoing investigation for autism she is 5 year old.

Sensory comfort in little ones

So my son is 4. Non verbal. We're awaiting assessment for anything official. But he's very big on sensory seeking. Recently ( last 2 weeks nearly 3) he has refused to wear anything but a specific pair of velour pjs he got for christmas. I'm not at the point we own 3 different styles of the same textured ohs as he refuses to wear anything else. Even his school uniform which he enjoys.

I'm just wondering if this is a common phase or comfort thing. Is there anything I can do to support or is it just something he may transition himself back out of when he's decided he's done. .
