Breastfeeding

Pumping and nursing 2 week old

First time mom here. I had my baby 2 weeks ago and have been trying everything to bring up my milk supply but am only getting about 2-3 oz every time I pump. Can other pumping mamas tell me how much they were pumping at two weeks? Or give me any tips on bringing up my supply? L

Family

Hi,

My baby boy is 11 days old and I am exclusively breastfeeding. My mum in law who is a GP from back home said that I have to have a very strict diet while I am breastfeeding this means no vegetables, fruit, nuts, chocolate/sugar, no milk (Greek yogurt and plain cottage cheese is ok but limited) so it means I need to eat only meat, pasta, bread, oats (no granola though), rice, buckwheat - it is because she said that the baby can get allergies and become colic. I checked NHS website, asked a few midwives and other breastfeeding mums and no one agrees with this diet, everyone said I have to have a balanced diet including vegetables and fruit. We had one episode when the baby was very active and was quite grumpy and didn’t want to nap the entire day, so my mum in law assumed he has colic and blamed me for eating vegetables and fruit (she diagnosed him remotely as she is not with us) Is anyone who is breastfeeding on a strict diet as above or heard about it? If so, how do you survive? Since I gave birth I am getting very constipated and the vegetables and fruit were helping me but now it is worse and I cannot be on laxatives all the time. Feel free to share any ideas, advice you think could help, thanks

Baby sleep

Sleeping through feeding

FTM here! My baby is 6 days old and, so far every night he has been waking up to eat every 2/3h. Tonight, he didn't wake up 3h mark for the 1st and 2nd feeding of the night, so I woke him up to feed. I'm breastfeeding every 3h. Is it normal that he won't wake up? Is it ok to feed a sleepy baby?

I wanna keep feeding every 3h as per doctor's recommendation

Blocked ducts

Looking for advice on how to clear a blocked duct. I've had a hard lump in one section of my breast all day due to a poor latch feed during the night. I've fed him regularly from that side all day, tried massage, applied a warm flannel and tried pumping but nothing will clear it 😪
