Help with active sleeping?

Hey moms! My 6 month old and I have started co sleeping very recently. He used to sleep very well in his crib until he got sick for the first time, on top of teething, just last week (if you have advice for getting him back in the crib too, I’d love to hear it🥹).

Right now, he prefers to sleep with me and my partner. However, some nights he’ll squirm, move his head aggressively, and kind of fuss/cry when sleeping with me. It seems like he’s in between waking and sleeping. It can take him about an hour or so to settle and go back to sleep but this will happen between 1-3 times throughout the night. What has helped is switching positions, nursing him, or just giving him time. Is this normal behavior? Do babies sleep throughout the night when cosleeping? I’m so tired and new to this, so I would love some advice! Thanks so much!!

Husband wants to cry it out with our toddler

I’ve just given birth to our soon a week ago. We are in another room to my husband and 2 year old. I’ve always co slept with our toddler as she’s got high sleep needs and needs extra reassurance. Before I gave birth I had finally got her to sleep through the night and go down within half an hour like clock work. Now I have to be up all night with the new born my husband has been co sleeping with her. She’s been up all night every night crying for a week now (which I said is to be expected as it’s a massive change in her routine) my husband said he can’t do this any longer and he’s going to put her old crib back together and let her cry it out. I’m devastated as I’ve spent 2 years of sleepless nights deliberately not doing this method. But there’s nothing I can do because I can’t be in two places at once. My heart is broken for her.
