Baby Mania-Shower,Nursey,&Party Ideas!

okay so two things:

1. I am thinking of doing a cash/gift card baby shower vs a regular one. I still created a registry with a handful of things for each budget... but has anyone opted for a cash/gift card baby shower? how did you do it? how did you word it?

2. my partner and I both don't have many people in our current city, I don't have family but I have a get friends in other parts of the country / world and want to know how everyone did a baby shower long distance? or I mean if people did them over covid I guess would be similar?? pls help a momma in training out

We live in Minnesota and are due with our first baby in March. We just bought a new house which we get to move into in September.

1. We would love to host it as a house warming/ diaper party. Is it tacky to do them together?

2. If not, is it tacky to do it in October or November (far before baby is due) so that we can host it indoor/ outdoor? It gets far too cold after that time of the year for outdoor to be an option. We have a nice yard and would like to allow the option for people to social distance and it would be a lot of people to fit inside and they get kind of wild. (Also justifying to myself that everyone is very busy around the holidays when the traditional rule of 2 month ahead of time is the appropriate time to host it)

3. Is it tacky that I am planning it? Should I just leave it to someone else to offer? (If so we will probably not do anything with his friends as my MILs family will probably plan something family only and my friends will plan something for our girl friend group only)

I having been planning to put together my own baby shower for the past couple of months. I have these basic layout as far as a guest list, theme, games.. but my biggest issue is just getting started and all on a budget and little time time get things done. Advice / Ideas please

I’m 17 weeks now, and I really want to have a baby shower on Halloween! Is that too soon? I guess I would be 25 weeks then. I’m not showing at all now soooo I don’t know.
