Want to have a diaper party with all of our friends on my husbands side. But wanting opinions before I start planning!
We live in Minnesota and are due with our first baby in March. We just bought a new house which we get to move into in September.
1. We would love to host it as a house warming/ diaper party. Is it tacky to do them together?
2. If not, is it tacky to do it in October or November (far before baby is due) so that we can host it indoor/ outdoor? It gets far too cold after that time of the year for outdoor to be an option. We have a nice yard and would like to allow the option for people to social distance and it would be a lot of people to fit inside and they get kind of wild. (Also justifying to myself that everyone is very busy around the holidays when the traditional rule of 2 month ahead of time is the appropriate time to host it)
3. Is it tacky that I am planning it? Should I just leave it to someone else to offer? (If so we will probably not do anything with his friends as my MILs family will probably plan something family only and my friends will plan something for our girl friend group only)

Honest opinion: I think having a diaper party before being 6 months pregnant would be odd, especially hosting it for yourself.
Totally get why you’d like to combine a house warming party with celebrating your pregnancy to include his friends but truth is, if they want to celebrate the baby they will find a way with or without a party
I personally think if you want to have a party then have the party! Both events are exciting and worth celebrating! Congratulations on both fronts 🎉
