Moving!

Hi, we’re hopefully moving the the Queen Creek/Gilbert area, but open to suggestions as we just started looking. We’re coming to visit from Portland (soooo sick of the rain and dreariness) next week, so I would love some advice on areas to check out.
Also, I’m hoping to get a head start on making friends in the area…are the people generally pretty friendly and outgoing there? I know every place has its own vibe, so I’m curious.
Last thing lol…if any of you suffer from bad allergies and have lived somewhere else…how does Arizona compare, with your allergies there? Hope to meet some of you someday!
