Oral feeding

My baby is gtube dependent and we've been trying oral feeding of purees and such. She started of doing alright with it but now refuses to let a spoon into her mouth unless she's doing it herself, but when she does it herself she only plays with the food. I've tried all the ideas my daughters ot has given us plus some that were recommended by the pediatrician but nothing. She has always hated the bottle. She had a severe oral aversion previously which has been worked through and she will put literally everything in her mouth except for any food. She has no real swallow reflex either due to being tube fed since she was 2 days old. She's 8 months old and I'm kind of at my wits end with trying to do any oral feeds.

gj tube?

anyone with experience with gj tubes or maybe just continuous feeds on g tube? i really need to talk.

my son has been vomiting profusely for nearly 3 months so now they wanna possibly do the gj surgery AND put him on continuous. I just got our lives somewhat together and started taking him to the library so we could make friends.he is very physically delayed due to the vomiting like still working on tummy time at 8 months.

I missed the nicu support group meeting I meant to go to tonight so the next one isn't for another week & the medically fragile group I also go to isn't for 2. I need to converse with someone who gets it and reassurance that it isn't that bad to be back on continuous and it will get better tbh.

I'm so sad. bolus gave us so much freedom and he's gaining great this month at 30g/1oz a day but he's in pain and having problems breathing when he vomits bc its mostly bilious and nothing has helped so far.

I don't want another surgery and I'd hate for him to be permanently attached to a pole (or at least pump) again. I know we can grab the backpack and go but it's so hard to keep feeds going and I just don't wanna have to do this. but I can't stand to see him in pain and unable to hold him lest I cause him to throw up more. he's puking minimally once a day and has since the beginning of August. his record is 7 in one day and not spitups. medium or large/full feed emeses.

I honestly don't even know how he's gaining so much with the amount of volume he's losing. he's dehydrated and constipated because of it.

is the gj surgery the right thing to do if we can't find out what is causing this and nothing else works? when should we start considering it? what did yall do?

Oral aversions

My daughter is primarily G-tube fed but she was also bottle fed since I had trouble producing breast milk. We were fine this routine where she take some formula by mouth and whatever she couldn’t take by mouth, she gets through her tube. However, at about 3-4 months she started refusing the bottle and kept tongue thrusting whenever we tried to bottle feed her. We were told she has severe acid reflux and also sees a GI specialist, a SLP and physical therapist and nothing is working. Her feed currently runs over 90mins and I find myself stuck at home and cannot get out since she’s mostly feeding for the longest. At some point she started projectile vomiting after every meal which can be 5-6 times a day. This was super frustrating, stressful and exhausting for all of us. Now she’s 10 months adjusted and still has refused to take the bottle or have anything in her mouth except water. She would put toys and everything else in her mouth except food. I have tried different types of purées, fruits, snacks and my daughter would become visibly upset or gag, once I set her up in her high chair or place a plate in front of her. Last night I brushed a spoon of yoghurt across her lips and she gagged and vomited all her food. Any other moms dealing with this or has an idea of how to get my LO to begin to eat. I don’t think her doctors are really helpful because she’s almost a year old and they have not being able to help us. This momma right here is tired and needs help.
